Are you talking to yourself?
that’s weird to me regardless of if it’s super common
autobiographies are kinda a different beast cause I can get how someone in x field isn’t equipped to write a novel
But if you write your own music at times it’s weird to me to get someone else to do it when it’s something deeply personal
I disagree, everyone isnt as good at discussing certain things a certain way. Everyone isnt good at talking about everything, but you more than likely still have feelings & an opinion on everything.
An autobiography would be "more weird" imo since its so detailed & covers so many aspects than a 2 to 4 minute song, but i dont think any of it is weird.
Kanye & other artists still have say & im 95% sure they more than likely came up with the concept together like most personal supporting writers. They come up with idea while spending time & talking with the artist's about their personal feelings, ideals & history, then the writer writes the actual song & makes sure the artist is cool with it & theyre represented correctly, then the artists leaves it as is or corrects whatever (like kanye with the two lines) then print.
But yeah its a very normal & usual thing and why someone that is that good & comfortable with artists is a writer.
If you find it strange i respect that, but then a lot of music & works of media/art would be strange since forever.

I've been good. Got a budget together for a graphic novel project and I've been looking over portfolios and interviewing artists. Takes up a lot of my time. I'm making moves though, this is going to be big for me.

lol exactly
NFW is fine but like that song got so much praise cause of how much of a contrast it is to the way women get portrayed usually in drakes music

It's a YA high school story about substance abuse and white cultural rot in Trump country. Like how do you overcome really s***ty circumstances to become a decent person when there's no one to teach you? That's the central question. I grew up where the opioid crisis is really out of control, so that inspired me.
If it's the same person I'm thinking of, we've been in touch. They'll be a big help when it comes time to distribute. They're very talented.
lol cause he literally said he wrote next to nothing
"Since leaving the hospital, Kanye had been compiling notes about his experiences and feelings. For “Ye,” he turned them over to various writers, so that they might help put structure to the thoughts."
From NYT article: nytimes.com/2018/06/25/arts/music/kanye-west-ye-interview.html
Its not as if Pardison was just guessing when writing it, it came from Ye that was put together succinctly by Pardi

Yeah I'm a backer, their work is crazy.
The artists I'm scouting are top tier so I'm hoping to have a classic on my hands by the end of the year. I'll be making a thread on it when there's more to share.

I imagine Pardi recorded a reference like lots of other writers did on the Violent Crimes beat but Ye just really liked how Pardi put all his thoughts together so he used it
Violent Crimes isn't a celebration, the whole song is basically saying; I've f***ed up so many times, the reality of my actions is dawning on me, I deserve whatever comes next
Its not a triumphant feminist anthem
