pop culture as a whole is basically all black peoples stuff it’s crazy
americas been profiting off of black cultural trends for decades
yeah I can’t think of many genres outside of some niche ones which aren’t influenced by black people

yeah to me the problem is less about immediately running into the accusations of theft on the part of actual artists and more on how the blame should be placed on corporate w****s who f*** up culture for a bag
cuz ur growing up around all these artists, if ur a creative ur bound to enter their world and start developing off of that
Theres music like this from Asia and Europe years before nicki minaj
Americans being super confident about s*** they dont know about
oh weezer thread is gone if you wanting to know

well racism and in some cases homophobia denied originates lot of credit to these artists
like something like house music was niche genre for queer black community in underground clubs no major is gonna touch that especially in 90s

That's true and they did the same. To disco too
so when it was exported to Europe during mid to late 90s they already had scene going and branched out of the Chicago house to bring different sounds and ideas to genre with more of backing
Also helps that Europe seems to have stronger rave culture then America, feel like lot electronic music in America which is popular is really dumbed down for the masses to listen to like electro house craze of early 10s (not saying all of music from that era was bad but it’s downgrade to a lot sounds coming out early)

we’ll see that feeds into the corruption of art because of racist and homophobic tendencies playing precedence in consumerism
it’s a whole web of f***ed up thought

Yep it’s unfortunate how it can affect art just because someone’s not same skin colour/sexuality. I always think about to what azealia banks said about that she makes gay music and breakfast clubs hosts looked at her weird af
still laughing how that guy decided his first post on here was to be racist
like coke on if you even lurked here once you would know there is pretty big black community here

House was already a thing in the late 80s in Europe
Also this common narrative completely ignores how big European producers were for disco music and early electronic music. I get people wanna give black people their props bc of the disco sucks movement being racist but a lot of this narrative around disco is kinda exaggerated. Kraftwerk were the first to do what we can recognize as electronic music, guys like Giorgio Moroder created the sound for Donna Summers, the entire early-80s post-disco genre were Italian dudes writing for black singers like the BB&Q Band or S.O.S. Band
I remember an article being posted about Daft Punk being racist culture vultures when in reality Thomas Bangalter's dad was one of the original disco producers
LOL this dropped in 2000 and Aqua hit the scene even earlier
Nicki didn't create hyperpop
