It’s crazy. We look at Nike as the top cultural company but if you think about it they really only have that based off of the 90’s and maaaybe the 2000’s.
They don’t have many silhouettes since then that they will be able to milk for 30 years like Dunk/Forces/Jordan 1-14’s
They feeling the effects of that hyperdunk banana boat shoe bullshit that spread to all of their designs that ironically probably started as a cost saving initiative. Ironically today they just debuted Ja’s shoe that has that same bullshit going on. Not a 30 year silhouette
Dope for more diverse s*** to be in outlets though

true but every other shoe company got less than 5 timeless models to their name
'hyped' stock doesn't even register for the likes of Nike in terms of raw sales numbers year on year. they could just ditch that entire side of their biz and probably be better off. this stuff exists solely to sell the idea of Nike as the 'cool' shoe brand and push ppl who miss out on the l&f or who get delayed FOMO to pick up idk some air maxs or something. yeah they could make a million l&fs and likely sell them all but they also don't want to risk making these things too available and killing the fomo marketing factor.
I definitely agree that they've made a lot of bullshit shoes the last few years - every company does tbh - but I wonder how much of that was a result of pandemic resale industry booming and then crashing along with everything else this year.

people forget their highest selling shoe is the air monarch
