1 through 5 are the golden years tho while 8 is a good middle ground & 6 + 7 are the dark times

I liked gen 7's region, characters and story the most out all recent Pokemon but everything else sucked really bad. Gen 6 is probably the most average gen ever. Still have to play Sword and Shield

I love the 3D World, but Nintendo treated this game as THE definite Mario game for WiiU was just wrong. Releasing 3D Land for the 3DS was okay and helped it explode in popularity, especially in its homeland. But why on earth did they think the same would happen again, just with a slightly bigger, flashed out version? WiiU era was just one misstep after another.

Gen 4 is so underrated on this list.

I agree though you outside of the ranking of the initial Gens. I honestly think Sword and Shield are worse than Gen 6. Gen 6 they get a bit of a pass because they were tryna do 3D models on dated hardware and transition the games. It’s not great but it’s okay. Gen 8 is awful simply because they used the same models, slashed content, and upped the price and then said “oh you want a full game? Buy these expansions.” To me, that is a terrible precedent and only shows the decline of the series at this point

Never played a YS game before should i start with Ys VIII or play Ys ix immidietly?

since the stories dont connect so id suggest ys viii bc its cheaper now and youll get to see if you like it or not

Crash 4 and Monster Hunter Rise are next in the library for sure, Pokémon Snap is a maybe

Pretty much my order except last three is 6 7 8. Realistically they’re basically the same though. I think Gen 2 is really slept on in terms of it holding up. If you wanna play OG Pokémon, might as well play that and not Gen 1
