Breath of the wild isnt a port

It kinda is tho Was originally developed and presented as a Wii U game but was then released on both systems. Crazy to think that this highly accredited game is at bottom a Wii U game.

Same with Twilight princess and miles morales but they're not considered ports are they

Most Nintendo franchises are overrated.

Other than Smash Bros and Mario Kart, each series has its fair share of bad games.

Kirby hasn’t been good since the gamecube. Metroid hasn’t been good since the gamecube. Donkey Kong has one good game. Yoshi hasn’t been good since the SNES. Even Mario and Zelda are inconsistent and have bad games here and there. Pokémon dropped the ball with Gen 8.
I wouldn’t even be upset if Nintendo never releases another Kirby, Yoshi, or DK game ever again.

Metroid samus returns released 4 years ago, if you dont count that there's still metroid prime 3. Donkey kong has tropical freeze and that's 7 years ago, kirby has Epic yarn and planet robobot, yoshi had wooly world, mario and zelda being 35 years old each its obvious they'd encounter some missteps, and calling them bad is a huge stretch

and Yoshi's Story on N64 was amazing

and Pokemon can be redeemed still with Snap and D/P remakes but you are right if GF continues with Let's Go and featureless core games then we def dont need any of that

Yeah, it's just a matter of semantics tbh. They are cross-gen games but you could also argue that they are ports since they were initially developed for one console but then ported to another console as well.
