i been sayin that BOTW2 and the new Switch model are releasing together since the BOTW2 teaser lol

it's gonna be in March 2022

they dont need to sell it this year, theyll keep selling the early Switch inventory with all kinds of games for the rest of 2021 i promise you Nintendo didnt drop the first Switch during the holidays for a reason, their fiscal years start in March 🤞

This makes sense but the rumors seem to insist that the revision is still slated for this year so I'm conflicted

Locked article on bloomberg saying botw2 launching alongside switch pro 2nd half of 2021 with other software
Also stating switch pro should be as powerful as a ps4pro/xbox one x at best, which isnt bad at all imo.
Article isnt up yet but should be soon, interesting news all around, dont know if its just speculation but its bloomberg, not your average twitter "insider"

  • Mar 17, 2021

    Im still team 2021 i dont give a f***

  • Mar 17, 2021

It seems there will also be 4k remasters, imagine if they sell them full price, id be so mad (it probably will happen knowing nintendo's greedy ass)
Edit: unless the remasters arent of existing switch 1st parties, then im gucci and support it, ww in 4k would make me instantly nut

Dumb question but I assume the pro controller would work with the new switch? I need to get one but don’t know if I should hold out

New switch is a revison, not a successor, think of it like ps4 and ps4 pro, so yeah it would work

Man that kind of power would exceed my expectations, so I won't be expecting PS4Pro or X1X levels, even at best. I'd be happy if it has the power of a regular PS4 Slim, but I doubt even that

I’m thinking spring release 2022 but I think the “launch” game alongside will be Splatoon 3. In theory, if Nintendo is gonna improve their online setup I think S3 is the better game to showcase that over BOTW2. If anything, they’ll be released close together as spring releases when the new Switch model comes.

Keep in mind that is all speculation, an educated guess. But the pro will at least be ps4/xone level, otherwise it wouldnt make sense to release a new revision

it isnt hard to go look at the power of Nvidia's newer chipsets lol put one of these in a Switch with the right CPU, cooling, battery and 128gb flash storage is for sure going to bring Xbox One X levels of performance to the Switch

the issue i have is joy-cons lol, i dont want ANOTHER s***ty pair so maybe i just wont even touch them on the new upgrade

they may be putting a lot of power into the dock this time, since the switch portably only has to go 720p but bumps up to 4k docked

If the new switch was as powerful as an Xbox One X it wouldn't be a new switch it would be a whole new generation which it isnt

am also just picturing the battery life

It wouldn’t be using that power portably, remember it only runs 720p portable

It would only be using that power when docked and connected to a power source so battery life is irrelevant

it would be 720p but it would be playing much higher graphically demanding games

games barely reach 720p as it is a new switch would lock it to 720p which would take a lot of power. If its as strong as an xbox one x it would be playing forza horizon and GTA V size games which would murder battery

relook at my post, i edited it with the new Nvidia chip

i thnk a lot of casuals dont understand the power and innovative experience that Nvidia posseses lol, the public said the original Switch wasnt possible or it wouldnt hold up but it definitely did

  • Mar 17, 2021

720p handheld is fine for a 7" screen

    that's 1280 pixels horizontally across like 5.5" horizontsally, you'll barely notice 720p vs 1080p

tell me this wouldn't sell millions at 399 USD:

brand new 7-inch Switch with the power of an Xbox One is being revealed in 2021 and will be out March 2022 with Zelda BOTW2, Pokemon Legends and Splatoon 3 as the big 3 launch titles

nintendo doesnt want to alienate the 100+ million people that will have Switches when this revision drops tho

i think it will be just like the New 3DS where you dont need the upgrade unless you wanna play a couple exclusive games and want a lil bit extra power

Xbox One X power on a Switch is a new generation to me. some Xbox One X games are native 4K. Xbox One X power on a console that outputs 720p handheld would be ludicrous power when nintendo never gave a f*** about power

why would they be alienated? why would there to be exclusives on the new model? you just contradicted your own point

were PS4 and XB1 users alienated by their Pro models?

if the accessories and the games still work then there's no alienation

nobody wants docked performances like Zelda BOTW2 in 900p or Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in 720p

  • Mar 17, 2021

all of these games and more will run 30fps or lower and 720-900p on the OG Switch but will have 4K30 and FHD60 options on Switch DX:

    Zelda BOTW 2
    Pokemon Legends
    Xenoblade Chronicles 3
    Dragon Quest: Infinity Strash
    Splatoon 3
    Metroid Prime 4
    Bayonetta 3

why would you put Xbox One X power on a device that doesnt even try to output native 4K and is 720p in handheld if you werent even going to use the insane power

the jump from a base switch to xbox one x power is a lot more than PS4 to PS4 pro and A LOT more than Xbox One to Xbox One X

if it really is dlss too then that would just be ridiculous lol

Youre gonna tell me that Nintendo is dropping an OLED 4K DLSS Xbox one X level of power Switch that somehow doesnt overheat or have s*** battery and its not a whole new generation? i just could never believe that

if Xbox One X can run some games native 4K imagine what a DLSS Xbox One X level of power Switch could run at 720p DLSS. that is crazy power for not a new generation but agree to disagree
