why would you put Xbox One X power on a device that doesnt even try to output native 4K and is 720p in handheld if you werent even going to use the insane power

the jump from a base switch to xbox one x power is a lot more than PS4 to PS4 pro and A LOT more than Xbox One to Xbox One X

if it really is dlss too then that would just be ridiculous lol

Youre gonna tell me that Nintendo is dropping an OLED 4K DLSS Xbox one X level of power Switch that somehow doesnt overheat or have s*** battery and its not a whole new generation? i just could never believe that

if Xbox One X can run some games native 4K imagine what a DLSS Xbox One X level of power Switch could run at 720p DLSS. that is crazy power for not a new generation but agree to disagree

    docked 4K30 is expected
    w/ 1080p @ 60fps alternative

    Xbox One X runs games @ 4K30

the Switch DX handheld will most likely run SHD60
which means 720p @ 60fps for most games

i think u keep overlooking docked players and i think u are underestimating how clean 720p can look on a higher end 7" Samsung OLED

how else can Nintendo justify a $399.99 console on the market one year after next gen consoles dropped? my Series X and PS5 and 65" 4K screen are soooo much better now it's not worth playing my Switch docked anymore

  • Mar 17, 2021

Nvidia makes powerful chips for laptop gaming, what makes u think they didnt keep going UP the last 5 years?

  • Mar 17, 2021

If the new switch was as powerful as an Xbox One X it wouldn't be a new switch it would be a whole new generation which it isnt

am also just picturing the battery life

We dont even know if nintendo is still thinking in "new generation" or if they plan to release a better switch every n years, and even then, every new gen has Nintendo trying something new with their consoles, like changing or adding new technologies, this will be the same concept but more powerful.
Lastly, it would reach xbox one x status at best while docked, didnt think it was needed to specify it. I can at least see this switch pro reaching at least xbox one level and its definitely not farfetched

i never hated on 720p bro my point about 720p is that if its running games at 720p with Xbox One X power the games you could create for it would be insane and zero chance they could run on the old switch when current switch games dont even run on old switch lol

literally every ported game would be an exclusive to the new switch and nintendo does not want that when they will have 100 million old switches already out there with half of them purchased in the last 2 of the 4 years of the switches life

you cant have a super powerful switch like you are saying ("NVIDIA makes powerful chips (...) what makes u think they didnt keep going UPP") and not alienate the current switch userbase through the insane amount of ports that would end up coming only to the new switch as nobody wants to port for current switch. you even said yourself some switch games currently dont even hit 720p so how are switch games made for an Xbox One X level of power switch gonna run on the old switch

i was gonna cop for $20 but apparently it goes on sale with full game + DLC for $20 frequently enough so im waiting for that personally but i heard its a pretty fun and decent game if youre into those kind of strategy games

nintendo doesnt want to alienate the 100+ million people that will have Switches when this revision drops tho

i think it will be just like the New 3DS where you dont need the upgrade unless you wanna play a couple exclusive games and want a lil bit extra power

Xbox One X power on a Switch is a new generation to me. some Xbox One X games are native 4K. Xbox One X power on a console that outputs 720p handheld would be ludicrous power when nintendo never gave a f*** about power

They're not alienating anybody cause people wont be forced to buy one, nintendo gonna support og switch at least until 2023 cause they've announced games like metroid prime 4 for the og and we dont know when it will release. This will be for people who want to upgrade, nintendo stated they wanted the switch to be a family of consoles with different offerings, the pro would cater to those who want more power and have been asking for it.
What you define as new generation to you could not be the same for nintendo, they've stated they're at the middle of its lifecycle, it cant be switch 2, its a revision that the console needs if nintendo wants more 3rd party games on their ecosystem and if they want to make more ambitious games, since their own games are starting to run only decently

fair enough brother i just dont see it having that much power which is why i think its just a New 3DS type revision. What yall describing is a new generation to me and i dont see that happening

    my guess is:

    OLED
    4K DLSS Docked
20-25% increase in power due to new chip

Same price as current Switch and just replaces it

  • Mar 17, 2021

damn gold edition has all the DLC just for $3 more might as well cop

    ok but

Nintendo isnt going to market a $399.99 USD model with a new title "Deluxe" or "XL" and not reach 4K30 docked and SHD60 handheld

Fair, i think its gonna be base Xbox one level when docked plus dlss to make certain games run at higher res and fps, with most games using dlss reaching 1440p @ 60fps and the lighter ones maybe reaching 4k (although they'll be a minority). Id be fine with anything honestly as long as i can play games like botw 2 @ 1080p 30fps with no dips or mario or new mario at 1080p 60fps, everything else is cherry on top really

no dude, a whole generation up from current Switch is 4K60, which is the current generation standard of gaming and Nintendo will STILL be behind that so how is it hard to believe we will get a big enough upgrade FIVE years later??

new Switch docked will need to have quality (dynamic 4K @ 30fps) and performance (dynamic 1440p @ 60fps) otherwise nobody will want one...

handheld will be 720p minimum because thats how u ensure a longevity of charge for the battery in handheld

how is it an honest debate when you just told me that i was wrong when were both speculating. youre getting in your feelings rn

Demon's Souls is one of the only next gen only games out rn and its not 4k60 , Spiderman not 4k60, Sackboy not 4k60

just because you want games to be 4k60 doesnt mean they are lol

    speculation is one thing

estimating a company is going to sell a full priced product that is severely outdated?

thats not speculation ur just special ed

this guy just cited 2 trash PS5 launch games running 4K30 as a reason why 4K60 isnt standard when a $1000 gaming PC and the Xbox Series X can run 4k60 on new games with only a few issues here and there
