What cheap shot? Did you watch the fight? Aang was going 1v1 against Zuko got low diffed and he went to help Azula cause she was getting murked by Katara. Then Aang fought Azula and got whooped again, making Katara have to fight them both again.

He was not caught off guard he was just trash.

And I’m not arguing for Korra, I’m arguing that Aang was low tier and if any other person in that story was the avatar they’d be way better than him. Toph, Katara, Azula... All three were better benders than Aang and would fold Aang without avatar state.

He was still active after that tho. It wasn’t until after the army pulled up where he was forced to resort to the Avatar state. And Azula caught him off guard while he was in it with a lightning strike, I mean it was a smart move but she pulled that s*** when he focusing on the army

So, he still got has beat beat throughout the whole fight and is the reason the army had time to pull up cause he couldn’t take care of one person. Let’s not forget Katara had Azula and was about to finish her before Zuko interfered.

And i don’t think that lightning strike is a cheap shot either. Aang in the middle of a battle tried to complete the avatar state training when he was literal seconds from completing it before again being selfish and trash and neglecting it to run to Katara when he could’ve went afterwards.

Aang just garbage man. He should be grateful that lion turtle showed up from nowhere and he fell onto that rock coincidentally bringing back his avatar state.

Alr you made good points because that fight was one of the few times Aang got caught slipping but let’s not forget he was 12, raised to be a pacifist, and had a year to master all elements. He had it the hardest out of any Avatar from the start and still pulled out da W wit it so put some respect on boy’s name

Toph was 12 when she invented metal bending.

I give him somewhat a pass cause his age and the time he had but I still believe everything i said about others being better benders than him and him being low tier. He was at the water tribe base with Katara and even learned longer than her and still in the end she had to teach him.

That's cuz he was more focused on doing a bunch of goofy s***. Like tryna impress a bunch of little girls to make Katara jealous. Or going to Omashu to ride the slides. Or teaching fire nation students how to dance. You know typical clown s***

You’ll only find headasses that hate on Aang on the internet bringing up fights that Aang has lost and conveniently ignoring the fact that Aang is a pacifist that has never fought to kill in his life, while all his opponents were trying to kill him. Even despite this, he would’ve killed a comet enhanced fire lord Ozai (strongest firebender in the world at that time) WITHOUT the avatar state, if he didn’t show him mercy.

Keep hating on the GOAT tho

You realize Aang was the youngest Airbending master in history right? And that he learned the other three elements in a matter of months? but he’s a low tier bender?

Y’all just be saying anything on here

One of my favorite displays of Aang's buffoonery was when he was first learning firebending. Jeong Jeong didn't wanna teach him because he knew he was p****. So Aang has Roku bail him out (one of the first of many) and forces Jeong Jeong to teach him. So what does Aang do with that opportunity?

He puts on his red nose and makeup on, fumbles the bag and burns Katara. Then proceeds to quit firebending forever. F***ing bum

Yes he’s low tier. Y’all keep mentioning his age, but if you look at his peers they’re all better than him lol. Toph was f***ing 12 and Azula was 14... stop making excuses, I’m using the story here that shows people in Aang’s age group are miles above him in competency and better than him when it comes to bending.

Azula infiltrated the earth kingdom, found out their plan and took over the dai li in no time. BuT sHe OnLy 14. And she was a master fire bender with blue flames and could already use lightning.

Bruh you have not given one actual example of them being better than him besides just saying “they were better than him.” What makes Katarras bending better than the youngest airbending master in HISTORY, who never fought with bloodlust in the entire series due to pacifism? And y’all love to bring up the fact that Aang lost some battles, why do y’all never mention the fact that Zuko almost never won any battles he was in either? Does that mean Zuko sucks? Since when was this series all about power level? Why are y’all treating this like DBZ? Get this bullshit out of my thread.

I didn't think any of the ones I mentioned needed explanations on how they're better. You use age as an excuse but all those in his age range have done the following:

    • Katara (14): Learned water bending and blood bending all in a shorter time than Aang had and because Aang was so slow even had to be his teacher when they left the Northern Water Tribe.
    • Toph (12): Was a master earth bender and invented a whole new sub type of bending in metal bending which was thought to be impossible.
    • Azule (14): Strategy wise she outclassed even grown men throughout the series. Was able to learn to use Lightning which not everyone can do at the age of 12, and she has literally only lost like 2 fights and one was when she was breaking down mentally, but also against Katara so she probably would've lost anyway.

And you keep mentioning pacifism... Again that goes to him being a bad avatar. It's the Avatar's duty to keep balance, and he was willing to put the pacifism above his duty. We have an example of this with Yangchen who was also an air nomad but put the balance of the world first. It took two ass pulls to get Aang out of that predicament.

And last What the hell did Aang do that was on any of those three level throughout the series. And notice I never mentioned Zuko with the other three as being exceptional because though he still clapped Aang when they fought, he was shown to be average at best, but him as a character is still miles ahead of Aang so that doesn't matter.

  • neal walter

Katara and Toph > Aang if we keepin it a buck

Ignoring all the crying for the past two pages, this honestly is the answer without the avatar state saving aang.

Toph is a good earthbender because she's an earthbender

Katara is a good waterbender because she a waterbender

all the people you're mentioning had the chance to become excellent benders because that's ALL THEY BEND

Aang is the AVATAR and had 3 other elements he had to learn besides airbending, plus naturally he was going to have a hard time learning earthbending because he's an airbender

make a real argument and pull up another airbender that was f***ing with him. Because the dude was the first of his class in the air temple to earn his tats.

Azula is the only exception because she was a f***ing prodigy, too bad that b**** had issues

And the fact that Aang ran away, almost drowned and had to save himself by going into the avatar state to freeze himself might be the most bum ass s*** that ever happened in the show

Then after letting his people get killed and leaving the rest of the world without hope for 100 years, he spends most of the show tryna goof off. But he's a great avatar tho right? F***ing clown ass nigga

If this is about him being an Avatar then bring up other Avatars, you're bringing up characters on the show who didn't have to worry about the responsibilities Aang had. His friends were all masters in their elements just like Aang so I don't understand why you're s***ting on him for not mastering every element

Also the pacifism plays a role in his character not his bending. He fought on the defensive most of the time and held back because he didn't like the violence. His age plays a role too cause most of the Avatars didn't know they were the avatar unti; 16 years old. He had to find out at 12, he had no family, just his friends which he would have to give up because of his duties

The guy wasn't perfect obviously he did some dumb s*** but as the Avatar he beat the odds and handled business. It's why I brought up Korra's faults earlier because she an AVATAR.
