Aang unlikable af too lol
Always running from a fight.
Ran when he found out he was the avatar. Almost drowned lol and went MIA for 100 years.
They supposed to be preparing for an invasion and this 100 year old man taking kids to his cave to teach em how to dance
And he died in the avatar state, that's literally the one rule every avatar needs to follow lol
Aang is unlikeable? Well damn
Zukos arc is top shelf goodness
It’s so well thought out too
There is so much visual, familial, and historical storytelling that goes into it
Whenever I think about Korra it makes zero sense that Air is the element she can’t learn at first
It should’ve been Water
Zukos arc is top shelf goodness
can't think of a better redemption arc tbh
He does grow?
He has to learn not to run away from things and take action and authority
Early on he realizes he’s just a kid doing this but at the same time feels like he has a serious responsibility. Only through hardship and consequences does he see that in many significant episodes of the show
Nah cause all he does is run and if he can't he's relying on past avatars for help. And when they can't give him answers he wants to hear he doesn't come up with the answer... a lion turtle does for him.
Itd be great if his problem wasn't just killing ozai but also felt wrong about taking his bending away.
I mean we knew Aang wasn't going to kill ozai cause he ain't bout it, but if he had found or came up with that technique but struggled with wanting to do that to him then it wouldve been more compelling.
He doesn't make any real hard choices.

Why
Aang doesnt really grow which isn't inherently bad but what hard choices does he ever really make?
It gets boring
???
What? What the hell you consider season 1 and 2 then?
Korra strong arms her way into every situation and gets f***ed up. She completely treated tenzins spiritual training like s***

Book 1 and 2 of Airbender or korra?
And she had to overcome that. And also Tenzin had to learn to meet her half way

My bad. Book 1&2 of Avatar. Aang def grows in those seasons.
In contrast, Korra always gets her way and never compromises on her beliefs or tries to meet them halfway to others.
Biggest example is how she learned air bending
Literally air bending is the polar opposite of her personality and learning it would have been a great story. The bending boxing sport was a good middle ground for her to get closer to air bending, but she never improved or cared how to become spiritual like an actual air bender. She never respected the s***. She barely respected a lot of people in the show because she was so sheltered at the south pole.
Plus she gets an avatar state freebie from aang himself for some reason
Aang on the other hand, had to learn and overcome the fear of fire bending to grow.

Killing Ozai is a hard choice
Sure that whole bending energy thing is somewhat messy at the last second but yeah there could’ve been a better out
The hardest choice he has to make is let go of Katara in season 2 to achieve the avatar state but can’t do it at all, it’s the biggest mental block he has to get over. He does but we see how that pays off
(That being said, I wish that scene would’ve been framed more with his friends rather than letting go of Katara cause what about Appa? Sokka? Momo?)
Aang is unlikeable? Well damn
He was annoying af tbh. Not all the time but he really made me wanna slap the back of his head sometimes. He was a little s*** in book 1 tho frfr.
Trying to impress little girls to make Katara jealous.
Not taking his fire bending training seriously and burning Katara and then never wants to fire bend again. Like I get why you feel bad but get over it nigga
Hiding the letter Katara and Sokka's father sent to them like wtf lol. Sokka a better man than me cuz I would've kicked aang in his f***ing head lol

Hes a kid lmao. A little s***head sometimes, but my dude was growing the entire show

Korra is disappointing. Y’all need to just admit they (creators and Nickelodeon) fumbled the show and it affected the quality and it became awful

Kid or not he was still unlikable to me
Also I get that he was a kid but wasn't the nigga like 12? That "he was a kid" s*** don't excuse everything for me.I feel like at that age you should know better than to hide your friends father letter while he was in the war. I definitely wasn't on some goofy s*** like that but that's just me, a real nigga, what's up

To the second point. It makes total sense why Aang wouldn’t fire bend ever again after that incident, he didn’t have any of the discipline needed to get to that element yet so had to make serious adjustments to understanding his Waterbending and later Earthbending
Is it a cop out? No. Kids will totally back down from something if a first time experience traumatizes them in some way.
That third point. I never truly got why Aang couldn’t just go with them to find Hakota. And before that scene they never made a significant task to find Sokka Katara’s father, and why couldn’t they? They already took so many detours, and down the road would. cough cough Painted Lady
i don't think aang should have gotten to get with katara.
they work better as brother/sister dynamic, watching them kiss was so uncomfortable
Whenever I think about Korra it makes zero sense that Air is the element she can’t learn at first

??? She's not patient, aggressive and violent opposite of aang how does it not make sense? She's a water tribe native how is she not gonna learn water?
