I feel it was the opposite. The teenage romance stuff is what put people off of Korras character. ATLA had teenage romance but it had a balance of that childhood wonder especially earlier on.

I think going back to the childhood wonder of ATLA is a genuinely solid move.

People comment on it a lot but I always viewed it as the fire nation was basically holding the world in tech stasis for 100 years keeping all the good stuff to themselves and once Aang ended the war and Zuko took over the world kind of hit fast forward to catch up on all that missing time, along with Toph inventing metal bending

They turning this franchise into Despicable Me/Minions territory bro never thought I'd see the day.

Film more or less is the standard anime movie filler episode quest you’d get from like the Dragonball or Pokemon ones but I still enjoyed and loved the new art style

Avatar definitely deserved something more ambitious though for the first new on screen story for Aang in 20 years

Please bring back real voice actors. The voices took me out so many times in the movie. Sokka kinda sounded about right but the rest wow
