Wrong, music has gotten significantly worse in the mainstream level, it's undeniably true to anyone that has a decent catalogue of saved music and years looking into it.
Man I have 100s of albums I listen to stretching back to the 50s and everything in between

Music doesn’t get better or worse, it just changes in style. If you can’t keep up anymore it just means you’ve gotten old and you’ve let nostalgia get the better of you
I can go from listening to frank sinatra to lil uzi vert with no problem at all, it’s all a mindset

I have over 2TB of saved music, from the 1800s classical to current era, every era has amazing music and even the music from this year is spectacular. I am talking about the quality of the Billboard 100 Top Singles which is a particular chart with very particular singles and the dramatic decline in quality. What you are posing is that I have a closed mined view of music, when in actuality I don't care about the age of music but merely the quality.
