Jay Z is essentially the Metallica of rap. Kanye is Pink Floyd.
Run DMC is ofc The Rolling Stones.
Each genre has its cornerstones. Miles, Coltrane, Parker etc.Everyone has their right to an opinion but to state something is overrated especially when you don’t understand it, one is better off keeping their mouth shut and learning more about the culture and what said music means.
People have to accept what’s great & learn it. Jay doesn’t even write his lyrics down b lol folks are acting like dropping these concepts off the dome is a walk in the park
I never doubted his rapping skills. But crafting songs and an album, nah he is not up there for me.

reasonable doubt, the blueprint, the black album and 4:44 are certified and proved classics. Not the ones you "kinda like" or the "its debatable.." 4 certified classics.
For the exception of Ye, name me somebody who can claim that.
Watch the throne is another classic. American Gangster is a debatable classic. Vol.2 is a great album. Check the longevity. Every great rapper of today is influenced by Jay. Drake Pusha Benny the Butcher Andre 3000... You cannott name one lyricist who does not praise Hov.
The only reason you dont see it that way is like i said you are a kid who knows nothing about the complexicity of rap. So go study the artform. Go live and learn. And stop with those stupid ass debates man...

You letting the Hov echo chamber lead you wrong and I think you need to understand the difference between seminal works and above average albums.
2. Lyricists praise pretty much every top tier rapper, I can name similar "great rappers" that Eminem, Nas and Snoop have influenced. These artists also have similar longevity.
3. Jay Z is hardly the most complex lyricist, and I'm hardly a kid. Rage all you want, the fact remains that post-return from retirement Jay Z has dropped just one above average album and a slew of duds and he has been inconsistent as hell in his features.
