Why do people go to school for a business degree? Pointless af. Not coming at you OP but almost everyone I talk to who did that just be lost as hell working in a bank or manger at some retail job

like why would I hire a business major to work at my bank when I could hire someone with a degree in finance/accounting/economics etc.

Here in Ireland almost all business degrees are specialised, so we all start off at the same point but some people go towards Finance, others accounting, some HR and I've fallen into Marketing because I found those subjects the easiest.

I know it's not getting any easier.

My friends all know what they're doing, ones in software, ones an engineer.
One was an accountant, now he's going back to become a teacher - he knew what he was working towards until he found out it wasn't for him, changed into something that he loves.
I don't know anybody else who just straight up has no clue.
