Considered both tbh. But easily more goth
yea that exactly what it is
so where @Cookies says she/he doesn't like punk cause it has bad song writing is such cop out of answer
you don't need to be super lyrical to convey emotion and explain your message
Most all
I like a few songs here and there
Bad brains are known for punk but their reggae cuts are 100 times better than their punk stuff imo
Death is ok
Black flag has a few cool song but for the most part I can’t connect with it
Dead Kennedy’s not really
Dead boys nope
Ahh agree with bad brains
And the Kennedys even though they have a classic.
For the style of rock punk is I just don’t find songwriting that important to the genre
That nigga clearly the devil lmao
They both on the same s*** but Uzi just did it before how is this Carti s*** reinventing anything

Never said carti was reinventing
yea that exactly what it is

This is true aswell
That’s not even what I’m saying lol Carti stans acting like this nigga made something ground breaking
now who said that
now who said that
The carti thread lol and every Uzi hate thread made comparing it to Uzi
What does that even mean tho lmao how was he more aesthetic. It’s the same s*** we seen in 2017 nothing super crazy
carti got music videos of him literally being a vampire. songs about him being a vampire. he's more dedicated to the gimmick
actually lot rappers trip over on themselves cause they try make something super complex and lyrical but can't back it up seen too many times
this is why someone saying so and so isn't lyrical isn't critique in my books. Emotion, personality, style means way more to me
yea that exactly what it is

I think the best punk band is the voidoids
Amazing guitar parts that have the punk feel but on another level compared to other acts in my opinion

I consider the voidoids the best punk band
They had variety and the best punk guitar parts I’ve heard
That kinda set the bar for me
And good to see someone else appreciate their reggae side, it’s really good

Those arguments only happen because hip hop doesn’t have sub genres on paper. Like someone like carti doesn’t need to be lyrical. The style of music he makes within rap doesn’t require a consistent need of lyricism. For him it requires melodies and the ability to constantly come up with catchy melodies and energetic songs

this is interesting peak i can't say myself i ever heard their record before even though i seen them
though i know he was apart television at one point

yea i think its less of critique now but i saw a lot when the newer generation were breaking out in mid 10s

It’s the same thing those big 70s mainstream rock bands was saying when punk came to the scene in the mid 70s. Happens everytime a new style or sound becomes popular in the genre. Same s*** wen grunge was becoming the forefront in the 90s

grunge can be fairly lyrically dense
yea its obvs generational difference when you saw breakout of brand new genres where many older people simply dont get it
In hindsight Ramones should be up there with the Beatles and stones in terms of impact and influence
this is interesting peak i can't say myself i ever heard their record before even though i seen them

Here’s a few if you wanna listen
The real magic is because of Robert Quine and Ivan julian
That’s not even what I’m saying lol Carti stans acting like this nigga made something ground breaking
it's not ground breaking for music as a whole but it's definitely ground breaking for Carti. Nobody could predict the album would sound like this, he took his artistry to a whole different level on this

Groundbreaking for Carti ain’t saying much for rap music, it’s the same repetitive lines on different beats. But I get what you mean
