Ending reminds of the way the third season ended. A complex dialogue between two characters whose principles and ideals ultimately drive the entire thematic tone of the whole season. Although this one was more of a closure whereas season 3 ended ambiguously.
Well put, season 3 had my favorite ending of all the seasons as well so this one hit for sure. Great season overall
John hamm’s character is ruthless & dumb af the same time lmao
Much like the real-life influences that his character is based on
Roy Tillman was by far the most grounded-in-reality villain the show has ever had, but he also still kept some of that classic cartoonish flair that we come to expect from Fargo villains. Hamm balanced both sides expertly well, probably the best role he’s had since Draper
First half to 2/3 of this season were on pace with S1/2 for me.
Final act was good, a little too on the nose for me, but still enjoyed the season quite a bit as a whole.
Great season. I hope we get more. I think with Disney owning Hulu soon and them all being about IP. I think that's a good sign they'll continue this series. hopefully Noah feels the same.

I think Noah said recently he still has plenty of stories left to tell in "that world"

agreed...all his god talk and old testament ways was a little goofy but he was also believable bc there's really psychotic nutjobs like that out there
just wish they would have actually shown him getting beat the f\*\*\* up in prison at the end but that visit from JJL's character was still great..."time of the skullfuckers"
Just finished, loved that final scene, hope Sam Spruell gets an Emmy nom this year
munch was my favorite part of this whole season. he took over every scene he got
editing during the shootout was a really f***ing annoying choice
i liked it , reminded me of fincher in gone girl
When shorty at the beginning of season 5 episode 2 stood up and walked away
It’s like that in Minnesota?

Idk why but his nipples being pierced is a perfect bookend to his character

Agree

That and having a towel with his face on it
None of the perfunctory Fargo stuff was memorable at all. The puppet show backstory was inspired. It was the most contrived bottle episode setup of all time, but worth it. The Fargo formula was just an obstacle to get there. John Hamm walking to orchestral Toxic needle drop is the most Tik Tok bait s*** I've ever seen. Got a chuckle out of me though.
They kept hooking me in with Nadine being in classic genre situations. There's a lot of home invasion and confinement/escape scenarios. Never lives up to the hype. Pretty negligent with situational awareness tbh.
Subtext was just text. Consolidated power at the state, federal, and corporate levels are flawed but on the right side of history, constrained by their interrelation (economics). Meritocratic egalitarianism or whatever. Anyone against that is reactionary.
Idc what the politics are but they were distilled into some really one note characters. Gator is legacy. Ole Munch is karma. Tillman is patriarchy. Deputy Farr is duty. Lukas Gage is completely wasted and that's Indira's story arc. Pointless. Can't stand Jennifer Jason Leigh's Hudsucker Atlantic accent.
Pretty bad. Regret wasting time on it.
Started watching this a few weeks ago with my wife
Gotta say, I enjoyed season 2, but I’m surprised that so many people like it more than Season 1. To me Season 1 is on par with True Detective season 1, and Fargo season 2 is nowhere near that level (and I was expecting to like it at least as much because I love Jesse Plemons)
