For real. Just seeing what is in that text block just calls Drake's whole sense of taste into question to me LOL... it's just like the Scorpion jackets, kind of hard before the album dropped and then the album dropped and you realize these jackets are literally worthless. So many of Drake's efforts in the arena of visuals betray his fundamental conservativism and lack of visual imagination and just lack of good design period... like the f***ing OVO radio covers half of which had completely illegible text and atrocious color combinations... some of the new OVO merch is kind of hard but seriously bring it back to that s*** Public Library was doing for him back in 2013, arguably the last era of consistently fairly solid Drake design. Not to mention that godawful blocky font that was used in the "Take Care" era... like seriously Weeknd's design just blows Drake out of the water in every way, just to use a random example. Nike and cars does not an aesthetic make... half of Drake's aesthetic is just taking pictures of rich people s*** that is well-designed but that neither he nor anyone on his team did anything to make look actually visually impressive beyond just the flex factor

I get what you’re saying but he never really relied on aesthetics (aswell as many other great rappers), his music speaks for itself

It's possible and I don't think it's that far of a reach tbh. Going into the year, he obviously had a different vision for how it was all going to be. My guess is he would have wanted a repeat of what he did in 2018, scoring a barrage of hits and dominating the year from January till December. Of course, all of that went out the window once Covid hit. I believe that's the only reason we got Dark Lane Demo Tapes. It was meant to serve as a placeholder until the album came and he unfortunately (prematurely) expected that the world would be back to normal in time for the summer so he could release his album and have it be experienced the way his albums usually are, but as we know, that is far from the case. If anything, over the past few weeks, Covid cases have spiked around the world as several countries have began to reopen and things have started going back to how they were in March/April/May (in terms of cases being reported).

I think all of that has forced him to reassess dropping an album right now.

Like I've said in some of my posts in the past, I believe he wants to be done with the album so he doesn't have to keep going back to being in an album-mode headspace but I honestly don't see him dropping that album now. There's really no reason to when you think about it. Summer was what everyone was holding on to because that's when he said it would be out but now that it's over, what else is there? It won't be smart dropping an album filled with summer bops in the fall and regardless of how solid of a debut the album has numbers-wise, it simply won't hit as well as it would under normal or even better circumstances and Drake knows that. That's something every artist who has dropped an album during this pandemic has experienced, regardless of how successful their album has been considering everything.

Also, what's the rush in releasing an album filled with brand new music when he won't be able to tour and perform said music until at the very least, fall next year (hopefully)?

My guess is he pushes another single or two more singles and then drops the album sometime next year (if only so he doesn't delay it for too long). I might be wrong though. This is just my theory and one I've had for quite sometime now.

Hmm interesting perspective. Feel like he should still tell us that it’s being pushed back.

I still see the album coming October but I see what you’re saying.
