I was just sent this song/album from a friend. Small Detroit band that first released in 2024. This is phenomenal, will add to op

"Chat Pile Drops Film Knowledge on Baltimore"

The vocalist is well known for his film knowledge, rambling about movies on stage in between songs in each live performance.

The video is just two band members talking about the movies they see at some store (?). Makes me want to rewatch child's play again

Some new additions, I will edit this with the missing links soon

Not a clue if this guy is in other bands, he must be, but it appears this whole project is all by one guy out in Brooklyn. "A joke that went on for too long" is apt for this record An Act of Violence (released January 7th 2025), which includes a heavy influence from modern slam bands with its egregious sample use, though is far more lyrical in a sense as it actually stands for something other than trailer park thotties and 40oz malt liquor. Very similiar to Full of Hell who also occasionally drowns themselves in noise. NY

    Prostitute
    Label:
    Instagram:
    Bandcamp: prostituteband.bandcamp.com/album/attempted-martyr

With middle eastern themes heavily relevant, this Detroit band released Attempted Martyr which The Needle Drop Melon F*** apparently reviewed and gave an 8/10 which is what I would rate it too. It's a great album, but I definitely disagree with the idea that they're the best new hardcore band in Michigan right now (though that record is a top 10 Michigan Hc record of the past couple years).

    Straw Man Army
    Label:

    Bandcamp:

This art punk band reminds me of the earlier records of bands like Idles. Definitely some noise rock use here and there, but very clearly art punk/indie first before noise rock itself. I would still reccomend them, as a new slowly increasing in popularity band that could probably get big some day.
