This isn’t a “defense” of or making excuses for anyone, but I can see how ppl who are or are descended from relatively recent arrivals to America would be less likely to really understand or truly care about the history of the Black-White relationship in America and how it’s not just a fun word that rappers say

If I went to Kazakhstan, even if someone told me about the ethnic dynamics of the Uzbeks, Karakalpaks and Khwarezmians and explained what was offensive in that society related to it, I wouldn’t truly understand it on the level that a Kazakh person who has lived it their whole life does

while it shouldn’t be hard for anyone to “get it” by the equivalent of reading Wikipedia articles for less than 30 minutes, 1) some things are truly understood best by being culturally born into it and 2) also people are stupid and stubborn
