why do ppl (I think she even said this herself) keep saying “alienate her white fans” in general and not specifically jewish? It seems odd to alienate one group by doing something disrespectful to another…
Like, the controversy isn’t about “anti-whiteness” it’s about antisemitism. Let’s be straight.
I love the album btw. But this sentiment is wack. Whatever she was going for was a miss. And I know she reads too much to be f***in up like this and ppl just throwing their hands up like it’s all good.
Minorities throwing digs at other discriminated groups bc they are fed up w structures of white supremacy is not the way… there are whole histories of Black-Jewish relationality in the US and beyond, conversations and organizing based on similar yet distinct histories of alienation and genocide. And some ppl wanna ignore that bc its easier to settle for ignorance and hate

Because the verse wasn't antisemitic. Someone (very likely white) misinterpreted the lyrics on Genius and people just been running off the f***ed up annotation as being what his verse is about.

NewCopeJustDroppedStop it! You don’t get to criticize someone for years which she has been doing to Kendrick and Beyoncé and Jay Z. Then turn around and fall in line and not expect your listeners to expect an. explanation. That’s def not too much to ask

She definitely has created this culture around her and I’m only getting into it now but it seems like the expectations around her are totally absurd.
