Socialist governments of the past were more efficient when it came to heavy industry than most capitalist governments. The USSR for example had a higher electricity production rate per capita and a higher caloric intake than the USA.

Their inefficiencies were in the light industry consumer segment. This is not a feature inherent to socialism, but rather just bad politics, because they gave too much priority to heavy industry in their planning, just like the USA is currently giving so much priority to the military that it harms the rest of the economy.

Besides, nobody wants a USSR 2.0 anyway. You are trying to criticize a system that doesn't even exist yet for its hypothetical failures rather than looking at the reality of what actually exists.

And you pointing out Bell proves that it is the laborer, in this case the engineer, who creates the phone. Under what economic system he functions is irrelevant to that fact.

without a reason, a monetary reason (the cornerstone of capitalism) bell and the like would have no reason to invent the telephone. The reason it got developed so quickly was because they wanted to make money. People like bell weren't trying to do it for the greater good. The reason it developed so quickly was because there was a market for it. That's the reason that most things develop quickly. markets. because everyone wants to be able to live life or hit it big. Thats why lotterys are so popular. Communism works with the idea that all people are morally good and work for the greater good. Reality is different. Why do you think iphones got invented by western countries? Why do you think everytime a communistic country gets set up it ends with a dictator grabbing power. Communists are dreamers, sometimes people can't accept that people are not inherently good. We are all just looking out for ourselves. A majority of humanity would be richer if labor was democratically organized. Only the elite percentage of society would suffer from socialism. If people are truly egotistical, they would not be capitalists, since they are the wagecucks getting f***ed over in their jobs. The only thing capitalism offers them is the fantasy that if they work hard enough, they too can become the next Bill Gates. In that, capitalism is like a lottery: The chances are slim to none. However, since everybody is a temporarily embarassed millionaire and small business owners who don't even earn that much in the grand scheme of things think they are the f***ing Rothschilds, people go against their own interests and perpuate a system where the top 1% owns more than the bottom 99%.
