    NEW EQUITY

I hate cops as much as the next guy,
But what's the solution after we get rid of cops? Who protects the lives of innocents in the case of extreme violence like Robbery and shootings?
Do we create anew force? Or..?

    google it

other than that, you just move to measures of restorative justice.

    Synopsis

you remove the conditions that lead to crime. i don't simply accept the premise that we have to live in a society where crimes like that exist.

There will always be greed, so there will always be crime.

There will always be jealousy, so there will always be a crime.

Humans want more, and some people will rob/kill to fill that itch.

Hundreds of thousands of years of human existence?

There are good people that are cops. But not good cops.

can you point me to a time period in human history where the conditions that lead to that idea of human nature were not present

  • Even if you remove socioeconomic inequities, say a man f***s his neighbor’s wife and the neighbor goes on a rampage. No “fixing” of society would prevent this.

Ok I see that can work. But don't you think the qualities and traits that lead to violent and anti social behavior is more nuanced and complex than just removing "conditions" that lead to violence/rape/robbery etc?

I'm with you on removing/improving the conditions but I think there's a lot of grey areas that will require some kind of patrolling

You can’t just remove the conditions that lead to crime. It sounds good but it’s meaningless. The human brain is so much more complex than that lol

There will always be a need for some sort of force that is trained for combat, force and/or protection.

  • Teens rebel against their parents, often for reasons that can’t easily be explained.

People self-hate, people sabotage their own lives. All of this remains even if we “remove conditions that lead to crime”, whatever that means.

Alright synopsis is clearly just being obtuse for the sake of being obtuse.

The solution to hundreds of thousands of years worth of issues is not a one-line retort on KTT2.

Youre right so perhaps you should go read some books on the topic of abolition.
