Anyone wanna answer these 2 questions for me? Need it for a homework assignment.
1) How do you identify your race/ethnicity?
2) Tell me one story of an experience you had that shows how your race/ethnicity affects your everyday life.
Edit: I only needed 2 answers but keep sharing I'm interested now
Mexican. Growing up it was Hispanic / Latino(a) but i dont have any spanish or latin roots so i stopped using it recently
Getting on DACA for the first time was one of the first times i felt like things were out of my control as a young adult. Having to put in money and fill out forms (for the first few years at least) just to work and exist safely in this country made me feel so out of place with everyone around me.
I'm white and mexican but when people ask i only say white to avoid confusion because my skins the color of mayonaise. Plus i grew up more with my moms side of the family (white people).

I am Mexican.
When I was in 5th grade I went to a new school in an affluent neighborhood in my city. I skipped 4th grade, so I went from 3rd to 5th. I was supposed to be in the advanced class, but when I got to the front counter to ask where my class was (by myself since I had to take the schoolbus), they assigned me to the special ed class... I was in the class for 2 weeks and didn't know any better (because I was 9 ). The school didn't figure it out til they realized I took the regular bus to school. They said the error was because the advanced class was also "special ed" in the system, but looking back I fully believe they saw a Mexican kid at a mostly white school and figured I had to be in the special ed class and not the advanced
Segregation itt
People who aren’t white are mentioned! This is equal to actual segregation! I am very smart!

Holy f*** dude
On the last day of BHM in 2019 me and my friend went walkin thru an apartment complex we both lived near, and that I had lived at at one point. Our friend group had been in and around this complex countless times. Tell me why Mgmt or whoever gets a police officer to come out, show us his badge, brag about his police car (whatta lame as if he bought that s***), then accuse us of being up to whatever the f***, and tell us if we ever "showed our faces" there again he was gonna search us and call our parents.....? We went back and smiled right in the mgmt office's direction on another day after that. F*** him
When I was in high school some white d***s(plain clothed 12) seen me walking out an ally and just randomly frisked me because I looked like one of them niggas that be out there i was young and didn’t know any better and I was scared so I didn’t defend myself. The way they ”serve and protect” the folks in our community ain’t right.
My bad if this doesn’t apply, just seen the title change and just wanted to add my piece.
