About to move back after eight years away. Trying to decide between Raleigh and Charlotte. Grew up in Greenville.

Idk how you grew up in Greenville, I'm only living here for one year and it's so dead right now that Summer hit. Been so bored I turned into an ECU baseball fan and I don't like baseball.

It's not bad during the school year, I deff had some fun going downtown (shoutout Rafters) and to ECU football games.

Plus being an hour and a half from the beach is nice

What are you looking for?

People under 30, active city life, rent that’s not crazy expensive, don’t want to live right on the coast, people that aren’t a******s, good food, not gentrified

Hmmm, the main cities are Asheville, Charlotte and Raleigh. There's plenty of young people in both Charlotte and Asheville.

Asheville is smaller near the mountains and the culture is similar to like a Austin or Seattle. Plenty of cool local spots for food and other things. Lots of small music and comedy shows to go to. It is pretty gentrified though.

While distinct Charlotte's vibe is similar to big southern cities like Atlanta. It's like a two hour drive from the mountains and four to the beach. Lot's of breweries and decent night life. Uptown can be a bit boujee though. There's pretty good food in Charlotte but nothing like super famous to the city.

I don't have a good comparison of Raleigh, I've only been twice and it felt like a smaller more condensed version of Charlotte without as much going on. Downtown area seemed less boujee though.
