okay so i finally got to this. i knew nothing about the original Dracula or Nosferatu stories, literally only ever saw him in that spongebob episode
this was one of the most horrified i’ve ever been in a movie. the first scene, seeing her seizing in that way, yet she’s feeling pleasure at the same time. it was just a shocking image to me. i don’t think ive ever realized just how much sexuality in horror is so affective to me until i saw this last night
performances were great, score and cinematography were top notch as always. eggers is so great man f***
yea i dont think ill be able to watch this again too soon, but i loved the experience in my local cinema. i’m excited to revisit someday
lmaooo, the Spongebob thing is too real, I’m on the same boat.
He'd probably do an amazing Blood Meridian. Hope the movie still goes through even with the weirdo news about McCarthy.
What weirdo news?
Dialogue in this was surprisingly whatever. Add the fact that it's a remake and you've got an uphill battle when it comes to exploring fresh angles with the story.
Film was complete trash and the story was wack. You kinda just want the villain to be murdered by a f***ing dreadnought and stop bullying powerless people
Damn i dont know if this is worst Eggers movie something seems wrong here
Still good but damn

I would say it is, to me, honestly but it’s still good of course 😭

Same here
Some scenography have that incredible dark fantasy Vibe
Orlok kinda sucks feels to much like a cartoon villain but he looks amazing definitely on par with Klinsky

Inspired design but that's about it. I can't tell if this is Eggers worst film or second worst
going to finally catch this in theaters tomorrow 🙏
didn't even realize it was out on VOD, but I'm so glad I got to experience it in theaters
film was phenomenal. very thrilling and at time really gruesome and yet beautiful.
only complaint was that sometimes it was hard to understand the dialogue, but that's something resolved with captions.
although it felt like the movie didn't have any fluff and fully made use of every minute of the runtime, the pacing did feel a little off near the end. at the same time, however, at least it didn't drag things out.
pacing was a bit too slow for me at times i started to get restless in the theatre but overall i really felt moved by the whole thing. great performances all around

more related to bills voice which is closer to kinskis than something intimidating, counts appearance & the way he moves in general was properly ominous
