I remember back in 2012 , I just entered high school and social media addicts who were online 24/7 on their iPhones was a new fringe phenomenon, they used twitter and tumblr were post undergrad

To me it was degen activity , that nyc and sf hipsters and college grads with bad habits were involved in now it’s ubiquitous

Seriously music hype social media all these godless stuff are making us like the Lotus eaters from the Odyssey

Your time will fly without being nearly as productive or aware of the things the things you wanted

So much to learn study , family to be aware of , relationships to uphold etc

Everyday it’s clear this stuff is not only usesless but actually destroys your potential for success

yea, sneaker culture has reached a low for sure.

blame the comps per usual for putting profits over quality. lack of story telling in many collabs and signature releases these days. oversaturation of the hottest brand or style.

on a serious note OP nobody holding you back but yourself so if you want more fulfilling life experiences try and make it happen for yourself

It stopped being fun when white kids got into shoes

    Just like AAVE
Now we got white people thinking saying "unc" is in any way funny

The idea of having a 5-figure wardrobe is stupid but I'll always be on the lookout for new stuff and caring about having a wardrobe aligned with my personal aesthetics

i mean yea sure that's well before 2012 though and I'd say 2012 around the "galaxy" all star pack is when sneaker culture was in one of it's peaks

Just shifted to more practicality and less hype, which is actually good for the space

Sneaker culture, whatever you think that is, is in a good space variety wise

The future will be about essentials, practicality, and minimalism. All that hyper consumerism is going out the door.

when is this "future" and when do you think it comes to fruition. what makes you think hyper-consumerism is going to die soon?
