Big Tobacco

capitalism and right wing politics are pretty much interwoven so you can pretty see where im going with that

ofc they need right wingers to keep making anything that doesn’t uphold the traditional status quo an enemy to their FREEDOM 🇺🇸 🦅🪖
There is this ASMR youtuber named Angelica that is going through a similar spiral/pipeline right now, watching her descent has been the most fascinating thing to me these past couple of months.
And the way she's been doubling down, I can't help but agree with Fantano on this.
looking at her page, she seems to have gone from esoteric artsy to evangelical christian with a similar aesthetic

It's a little worst than that, she's gone full right-wing trad-wife biggot.
What is this woke that’s being instilled by the media exactly
Oh you know, black people in advertisements and the gays in Netflix shows that they're being forced to watch, duh
why do people hate him again
Bad takes for the sake of attention, at least that's my issue with him at this point
His influence with the youth is very annoying too. Kids don't understand his jokes and how some takes aren't real but regurgitate them as fact to feel superior
why do people hate him again
Because they're alt-right sympathizers or failed Youtube music critics
Op broke af worried about the wrong s***, typical 2 braloserl commie.
literally just anything progressive thats changing or influencing their brand image, it doesn’t mean they actually care(they always still end up being tone deaf) you just see the media getting involved with identity politics now because it gets attention online regardless
“Identity Politics”
Sounding like a…

I think it's simply because he's a critic. But white or not he's been speaking on music in a high effort way for a long time.
I only watch his rap reviews so obviously I disagree with him on a lot of s*** but every other channel is dudes talking over each other and never making clear points.
Fantano will be like "Track 3 had a very glossy undertone" and I'll listen to track three and be like that's a glossy ass undertone 🤔
why do people hate him again
I’ll tell you what it is. It’s Anti-Italian discrimination.
Yet another Anthony Fantano W
Damn skinn I did not pin you as a fantano forever type
I mean even right wingers don’t trust big gov & don’t want to live in a “woke” society that’s being instilled by the media, all this fake corporate pandering and propaganda is making it seem like they are the real counter culture
The fact that woke went from a term of endearment for black youth (kinda like based, actually) to being a conservative dog whistle is f***ing maddening and we need to reclaim it
why do people hate him again
Tbh, I hate how he gave Dark Sky Paradise, Big Sean's best album before D2, just a straight up no
That made me really mad for a long time, and while I used to respect the argument he would give out valid reasons for his opinions, but that was some b**** s***.

We don't talk enough about how "woke" is the latest in a long line of things originating in Black culture to have been co-opted by white people (the worst white people in this instance)
Damn skinn I did not pin you as a fantano forever type
I don't love him but I don't mind him
Y'all (not you specifically but some onlookers who make hating Anthony Fantano part of their Internet personality) put too much emphasis on other peoples opinions just because they've built a big platform for themselves. I often disagree, and even sharply disagree in some instances, with TND reviews, but he's extremely articulate and well-rounded musically so I respect the opinions and I love how laidback his critic style is. It's refreshing from the stuffy s*** we were getting from Scaruffi, Christgau, Pitchfork, etc
