WIZRD has some fire songs tho. Just has a lot of misses too. More than this one, for sure

what are the "a lot of misses" in WIZRD? i'm curious

  • May 23, 2020

the wizrd still in rotation ever since it dropped but now i’m gonna listen even more just cause it’s so much better

  • May 23, 2020

    also the wizrd aged amazingly

  • May 23, 2020

Yeah this album was mid, hopefully Future bounces back with next project

  • May 23, 2020

For a minute future has been releasing mid projects

  • May 23, 2020

THANK YOU FOR THIS THREAD. after wizrd and save me i would expext way better

I can understand that based off first listen but once you get into WIZRD you notice it has wayyyy more introspection

Just compare the intro tracks of the two records

Never Stop is so raw and honest while wtf is Trapped in the Sun even he's just rapping about cars

yo this is facts too. the last two projects before HOL made me think we would be getting more mature music from now on

    scoop

tbh all of your criticisms about this album are the same ones i had about the WIZRD last year

Future’s music is boring and repetitive now

Future started falling off musically when he dropped Future/Hndrxx imo.. he hasn’t been the same since

  • May 23, 2020

Sadly I have to agree with this

Also why are you starting off your Saturday with negativity and trying to get a rush of endorphins from notifications by being a contrarian

    WHEWWWWWW

  • May 23, 2020

I really like maybe 5-7 tracks on High off life and Wunna

The rest is average tbh those 5-7 tracks tho are Dope

  • May 23, 2020

i mean ig the wizrd had higher highs but i still really fw HOL, cut off the "bonus tracks" minus tycoon and that s*** super solid to me

  • May 23, 2020

I been telling yah this and y’all been s***ting on me !

You can tell op is a real future fan bc he understands what future is capable of and is willing to hold him to a minimum standard of creativity. The rest of you are enablers of bad music

I love Future but it's hard to defend this album because it leaves so much to be desired. I just hope next time he comes with stronger material that way HIGH OFF LIFE can only be remembered as a misstep (instead of the beginning of a downward spiral) and cautionary tale for any artist trying to rest on their laurels.

it’s like you some of the people on this site are incapable of having any self awareness y’all said the same s*** about The WIZRD. just like how everyone s***ted on Ye until JIK dropped, then Ye became “actually not so bad”

my point is some of you go through this weird, pointless cycle of trying to be contrarians with every popular new album. maybe get a hobby or something instead.

Understandable and I can only speak for myself but I liked the WIZRD when it dropped, thought the singles were catchy af and the intro/outro immediately struck a chord with me

    Ye/JIK both pretty trashh

Ye becomes 'not so bad' after seeing him release so much worse with JIK

  • May 23, 2020

Got some good songs but yeah I think niggas scared to speak bad on him cause they dont wanna look out of touch

THE WIZRD left the Future mythos on such a strong note, Ain't Coming Back & Tricks On Me were such amazing closers to that record - Ain't Come Back felt like his final statement on the game as a rapper & Tricks On Me felt like the emergence of a warm summer-day as Future relaxes off into the sunset after years of d*** abuse & street trauma

Although he wasn't planning to totally finish with making music, when he followed up with SAVE ME it was such a step in the right direction. The whole aesthetic of that album was flawless, not to mention its sonic departure from the rest of his discography. PLUS goddamn LOVE THY ENEMIES is top 10 Future oh my godddd what a f***ing closer:

Save my flesh, I’m in need of your love
Tracin' back to orbit is where we met, met
You wasn't considerate to how I was feelin', yeah
How am I explain this to my children?
I need to find the words without soundin' foolish
    Caught in temporary illusions, yeah
Treat me like property, but you pursuin'

REAL TANGIBLE PAIN IN HIS EXPRESSION WITH THAT ONE

Annndddddd then he drops pure MID with High Off Life...... It's not a bad record and there is some quality (Tycoon, Up The River, Accepting My Flaws) but its just MORE of the SAME s*** he was doing 5 years ago except 5 years ago he was doing it BETTER

The features are so generic, the beats are so obvious, and it just doesn't add anything to his legacy apart from just being another hour+ of music, honestly was such a regression

Straight facts for the most part

I enjoyed the album in an overall sense but it's such a nothing in the grand scheme of his legacy, especially coming off such a spectacular 2019.
I really think something happened between Save Me and HOL in terms of the material he was planning to release. Something just seems to be missing.

Save Me came out, and Sony's press release for that straight up said that there was another release waiting in the wings before the end of 2019.
Then singles start rolling out eventually (My Name, 100 Shooters) and we start hearing of a new FBG comp album that they would have fit on.

Nothing happens for a while, the Life Is Good drops and we discover this is the title track off his upcoming album, but suddenly we don't hear anything again for a bit... Tycoon eventually drops but it's still radio silence...

Then out of the blue he just suddenly announces High Off Life and it drops like several days later with little fanfare? Not only that but the 5 tracks he'd released over the last 6 months or whatever are all just chucked onto the end like some weird bonus tracks?

I dunno man it feels like we're missing part of the story here.

I remember pressing play and thinking alright last 2 intros were never stop and X**** damage... Skipped the new intro like three Lamborghini references in

So did you skim through the entire album how you did the intro?

    that's how it goes

i remember defending WIZRD so hard

ktt users only appreciate past work when the artist releases new work and they can say x was better than y
