I think that's why Reels and Shorts were created in the first place. To keep people engaged on IG and YouTube overall than go to TikTok for short form vids.

If TikTok is banned, advertisers will shift their money they originally spent on TikTok over to Reels and Shorts instead, making TikTok creators have to move over to those platform.

This still doesn’t mean anything. This is just to approve the request for tiktok to divest within 6 months. After 6 months is when it will be banned if they don’t sale. So for now, we still have tiktok in US until at least September/October

Because of fear of ties to the Chinese government just like TikTok today, US put also severe sanctions on them and any US company that has even remote business with them gets banned as well. As a result Huwaei's phone business collapsed almost overnight.
