I don't get why you need to argue what's a classic Take Care or Nothing Was The Same they're both classic
the sooner yall stop putting take care on a pedestal the better
it’s more bloated than iyrt and nwts
funny how people will actually try to act like the young spitter that everyone in rap fear doesn’t have NUMEROUS classics
ppl forget about connect and come thru
better r&b cuts than 90% of take care
Let’s not get carried away now
Why u basing classics of impact and influence? The defining characteristic for an album to be classic should be quality first and foremost...
Prob doesn't mean much, but John Denton isn't a Drake stan and called NWTS a classic record after first listen
It had way more than NWTS. When NWTS came out everyone said it was good but not better than Take Care.
Everyone was in line w IYRT. even people who don’t like Drake
IYRTITL isn't even on the charts anymore. People still listen to NWTS more than they listen to it. NWTS has stood the test of time better than IYRTITL

If it's about classic status, NWTS deserves it more than IYRTITL because more people still listen to NWTS. People still listening to it is like 90% of what makes an album a classic.

Me and that poster were talking about which album had more impact upon release between IYRT and NWTS.
My perspective no one cares about: I was going to a university with 45k+ students for both TC and NWTS. TC definitely felt more like a moment in time. It was inescable through Christmas break. Everyone knew every single song off that record. It's still my favorite Drake album for purely nostalgia purposes.
But I think NWTS is better. It's more concise, more focused, the production is better, the raps are better, the flows and song structures are more diverse. It's a lot slower though. As much as TC gets a reputation for melodic melodrama, NWTS has way fewer songs that you might hear at a party. It really only has Started, Worst, and Language in the regular edition album.
No matter how many paragraphs you type, Take Care >>>> NWTS
Sorry but not really
Nah
No comparison between the both for one. Where is the orchestral elements on nwts found on LR? Also the We Major & hey momma of NWTS?
This is my case. Here’s a list of every album 7+ years old that’s still on the Billboard 200:
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
Abbey Road - Beatles
Take Care - Drake
Back in Black - AC/DC
good kid, maad city - kdot
Nevermind - Nirvana
Eminem Show - Em
Thriller - MJ
Man on the Moon - Cudi
NWTS - Drake
21 - Adele
Born to Die - Lana
Classics only
Actually one of the smarter KTT posts
There are two criteria for a classic, either obvious musical influence (e.g. 808s and Heartbreak) or timelessness that is shown by an everlasting appreciation for the music (the albums in the list here)
Ive seen a lot of people on forums consider XXX and/or AE classics, wouldn't the same questions apply to those albums too? Or a lot of classic quality albums?
Lol these albums are not classics and the guys calling them classic are not worth listening to
Exactly, the album is very good imo but it didn’t have the impact his predecessor and successor had.
Anybody saying something else wasn’t listening to hip hop at the time
Because hip hop says TC is a classic dam
talking bout late registration isn't a classic.....
shut down KTT bro this thread a tragedy... just wipe the whole server clean after this

If iyrrtl was marketed as an album it would still be on the charts

Huh? It's on Spotify and AM in the albums section just like NWTS. That's not gonna affect how people listen to the music 5 years later
