Disclaimer: I don't have a Twitter, but I read threads occasionally, so I may not have an accurate perspective
Regarding #4. Who is the "we" in cancel culture? From what I've seen it just seems like randoms with a couple thousand (active) followers digging up tweets/posts from a while ago. It seems rather disorganized, as online discourse tends to be.
There are people that deserve to be cancelled cough adam22, but has anyone actually been cancelled after their old posts have been dug up?
Wish he would devote his public speeches to showing some contrition for the lives of the Yemeni children he’s taken rather than going on anti-SJW tirades about twitter dramas
Obama shouldn't even be doing interviews he should be rotting in prison in The Hague with his buddies Bush and Trump.
Funny how Obama was everyone favorite just a few years ago, all of a sudden people wanna switch up
All presidents have done unfavorable things, it’s literally a part of the job
I vividly remember the Bush administration, Obama, and now Trump (I was too young for Clinton’s although I was alive then). Some of you might only know Obama and Trump.
The fact of the matter is, Obama was a great for a president. He was calm, cool, collected and made you feel safe and in control
„Obama was a great president even though he’s a war criminal because of his charm”
Cancel culture is dumb but Obama who is responsible for the deaths of many many many innocent lives shouldn’t be the one to tell you about it
Our best president
People always use that "who has cancel culture actually canceled" to dismiss its criticisms.
It's not even about the act of canceling it's the ideology behind it.
I remember when Kevin Hart got into that car accident and niggas was really wishing ill on him cuz of them stupid tweets he made like 6 years ago lol. Like.. nigga.
And the people who usually try to "cancel" folks be bullies themselves, and they don't even do it out of a sense of morality it's usually just directionless anger.
Niggas don't even allow room for growth or nothing.
F*** everybody itt coming for Obama. Suck my dïck
“This idea of purity and that you’re never compromised and you’re always politically woke — you should get over that quickly,”
The world is messy. There are ambiguities. People who do really good stuff have flaws. People who you are fighting may love their kids, and share certain things with you.”
I do get a sense sometimes now among certain young people, and this is accelerated by social media — there is this sense sometimes of the way of me making change is to be as judgmental as possible about other people, and that’s enough. If I tweet or hashtag about how you didn’t do something right or used the wrong verb, then I can sit back and feel pretty good about myself. Did you see how woke I was, I called you out. Then I’m going to get on my TV and watch my show … That’s not activism. That’s not bringing about change. If all you’re doing is casting stones, you’re probably not going to get that far.”
"People who you are fighting may love their kids"
This dude really said obama was a great president because of his charisma
lol dude it's common thought tbh
Stfu
Suck my d*** with ya grandmother's daughter's lips
Twitter in shambles
i agree that cancel culture is counterintuitive, but people should be held accountable for their actions, even if they’ve grown
It depends. If they hurt someone then yeah but if it was just for some like edgy s*** you didn’t believe in, then no
He's absolutely right. Yes, people should be held accountable for their actions, but nitpicking flaws just to feel better about oneself is not activism.
got absolutely nothing done and now some idiot reversed whatever s***ty "legacy" he had
f*** him
