Andre is only put above Big Boi because his style is more artsy and edgy, plus he’s given a lot of artists that came after him some great features
fam he overshadows Big Boi on every album except their debut
I understand, a lot of people do.
I'm southern biased. I like em both equally.
I don't think Andre's eccentricity shines without Big Boi's country slang.
Naw
damn I wouldn’t be super mad if you did
Low key would put him around 20-25 mark guy did have good record

I disagree. I enjoy them both equally. Literally the perfect rap group

Imma give you this though, he's definitely up there in terms of longevity
People gotta relisten to those Outkast albums.
Big Boi was the better half on Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik (This site said it wasn't a classic a while ago so I'm not expecting much from that)
Big boi was better at rapping than 3k on the first 2 kast albums forsure. Aquemini is when 3k started going crazy
You could say the same about a lot of rappers from that time. Not really a good point. And this is coming from someone who has him in that top 5 class
Yeah but 27 years after his debut he just won a Grammy for best album of the year man
If someone asks you about hip hop, Nas and Illmatic are two of the first things you think about, and op is saying he isn’t even in the conversation for top 5

Op is trippin for sure lol
Where does Cam rank for y’all overall?
And where does strictly his peak rank for y’all?

that's exactly what it is.
It just annoys me, it reminds me of what YesJulz said about Earthgang and it's like....everyone acted all outraged at her like niggas don't be damn near saying the same thing when they put 3K in they top 5 for Outkast...
like...it's a duo lol.
And @iamiguel I would argue, as a Tribe fan, that Phife wasn't as involved from the start as Big Boi was so I'd say they was different. HE wasn't really rapping rapping on People's Instinctive Travels.

Even mainstream wise Nas was pretty big well until 2008 that's why his Untitled album was so controversial.
He was a big artist still
I said earlier he had a lot of commercial success. It's overlooked he had like 7 platinum albums.
Oh wow an album debuted well probably because the album before it created excitement. Exactly what I said.
Illmatic (1994) went platinum only in 2001 (7 years after it's release)
IWW (1996) went platinum after a few months
IWW literally couldn't only have been successful of of the fans who liked illmatic buying it.
him having dre, havoc and Lauryn hill on the album + the message probably contribute to people buying it more and becoming fans, just a theory
yes, i think anyone in the top 10 has a legit argument for being top 5, or even #1 tbh
i got nas at 7 personally on my list
Even then he was still big
IWW: 270k
IAM: 470k
Nastradamus: 232k
Stillmatic: 342k
GS: 156k
SD: 232K
HID: 355k
Untitled: 187k
LIG: 150K
I can quote myself saying he had success earlier if you'd like.

Yoooou really need to relisten to Stankonia then.
S***, Big Boi had the best verse on So Fresh and So Clean
I get what you say but the album was still top 3 of the year and deserved the award, there was no clear winner like other years
Big boi was better at rapping than 3k on the first 2 kast albums forsure. Aquemini is when 3k started going crazy
dunno tho. Slump, West Savannah (it's a solo outtake from they first album i know), Skew it On The Bar-B, SpottieOpieDopalicious, dude shined on them joints.
also history forgets Aquemini (album) had 3K's worst verse ever that no one wants to talk about.
