Someone explain woods verse on aubergine

Not sure about the first few lines, but:

"Negroes shoot for the top, I always had poor posture
    Traps packed with dead lobsters
Bottom feeders toasting grappa, basic, penne alla vodka
You order off the menu, chef handmade me latkes
    I don't care, I don't be countin' niggas' pockets
Westworld n****s re-rebooting, recycling the same shooting
Rappers tired, inertia the only thing keep em moving
Glassy-eyed in the studio, that street date looming (You know who)"

    • woods isn't concerned with fame/money and 'shooting for the top'. Rather, he focuses on doing music his way, through his own label.
    • Other rappers go through beats sent from producers and choose which ones to pick from (you order off the menu), whereas woods and Elucid get their beats handmade specifically for them by The Alchemist (chef handmade me Latkes)
    • woods doesn't care how much money these other guys are making, he's focused on himself.
    • Other rappers are talking about the same thing over and over in their raps, specifically a certain shooting. It's getting tiresome, but they don't have the skills to write about anything else. They're 'glassy-eyed in the studio', not able to write about anything else as the street-date for their new album looms. Westworld is a franchise in which human-looking robots are often shot and killed, and then they are 're-booted'. Their only purpose is to play the same pre-programmed shooting scene over and over again.

    "Toast coriander and cumin
    Crush fragrant, slow, circular movements
    In the garden, nascent
She let me ate it, I'm only human"

    • These lines make me picture woods breaking down some weed, while the 'in the garden nascent, she let me ate it' lines bring imagery of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. These last lines also contain some sexual innuendo.
      Hope that helps!

I never connected the chef being the alchemist, it makes so much sense. Some of other lines were a bit more easier to parse, thanks for the writeup appreciate it!

I don't count.... pockets line was my fav. To me it felt like he doesn't care about how much money you make, he doesn't treat people differently based on their income, likewise chef doesn't care about his pockets either yet based on his work he get the treatment he deserves, something money can't buy.

Idk about the "You order off the menu, chef handmade me latkes" interpretation. Just sounds like a way to say he does things his way. The game caters to him, he doesn't cater to it.

Fresh out the womb, they jump you in
Family in the waitin' room, blood thick then thin (Colors)
Blood drip on the starter (Colors)
    Blood thicker than water
Mom said, "don't let anybody take what's ours"
In other words, don't come home without it
I thought she was angry, now I know it was fear
Every home a trap house when you think about it (Colors)
Ancestors is there, every room crowded
Blood thud in my ears when they say you look like how he did (Colors, colors, colors)
The gang's all here, the blood's all shared
The love is real, the love is there
I thought she was mad, now I know she was just scared

    none rap better than woods
