They really aint ready for this.
I like Boldy and Gibbs a lot, but this is just a whole other level.
woods on 100k spotify monthly, ELUCID 20k, Alchemist 2.5m. So happy for them. People who've been sleeping are about to get exposed to two competing at the very pinnacle of best rappers out there.
Crazy as well that even after every high they've hit I still have no doubt this could very well be their best work yet. Quality and quantity above and beyond.
You think they’ll really ‘blow up’ like Boldy did? They’ll get more exposure no doubt, but this might be too off-kilter for a ton of brand new listeners to become fans
Hopefully I’m wrong, cause they obviously deserve more notoriety
What is your interpretation of the Shrines album cover and theme in the album?
I think there's a few layers at play. Primarily acts as an allegory to the experience of many Black people in America - endangerment, not belonging, an ancestry of captivity and non-nativity.
Beyond that there is the receding of nature. Attempts to find safety and create communities for ourselves outside of the existing system. The absurdity of it all. All themes touched on in the album.

Yeah I agree in essence, no doubt there will be a bump, how significant that will be I am curious to see.
I think they'll get a lot of reviews and writeups that they wouldn't have necessarily in the past. And end up on more aoty lists than usual. I don't know how many vinyl copies they had but they did sell out first day, which I don't think they did with Shrines.
There's definitely still a greater level of accessibility with Boldy. And I don't think (and nor should they) that they will 'dumb it down' or compromise on their production for the sake of easy listening. The cover certainly seems like the exact opposite.
I'd be really happy to see them mentioned much more in the KTT vacuum. I felt like KA got that last year, and Navy.

Yeah I could see them getting more positive press, no doubt. And yeah I guess any shine they get will be good for them.
True—it was great to see both those guys get major eyes on their work (both on and off KTT lol). They deserve so much praise, so it feels like justice. And throwing in Armand Hammer w them, these are artists who seemingly won’t compromise any part of their art for popularity. This is why their my favorites: so thorough

If anything they would go full throttle with the lyrics and flows based on how they have progressed ever album
new podcast episode with alchemist and armand hammer "The Next Movement"
Which pod?
Your God is distant
Your father never listen
God forbid your father missin'
Had to do wrong off of intuition
Son ask what I be doing in the kitchen
Kid I'm trying to beat the f***ing system
ELUCID on Al - 'He was trying to make something new and come into our world... the stuff he gave us doesn't sound like what he's given other people'. All I wanted to hear

He also mentioned if he was in studio with Al they would have come with something unique but this is cool as well
