If you wanna do options which I don’t recommend you could do something like this.

Avoid Tesla and amazon options. I haven’t looked but the implied volatility it probably 200%. Meaning your paying 200% more then what it’s worth.

I’d tell you to buy 3 jul/24 120 TQQQ calls. Gonna run you about 900. Idk how risky you wanna play it so I’d tell you to hold those 3 for a few days and see how they play out.

Me personally I usually buy the stock and bet options against it. My bigger positions. So you could buy 10 TQQQ gonna run you around 1100-1200. And then buy some puts to hedge in 2 week intervals. So buy the TQQQ jul/24 100puts. 2 of those will run you about 1100.

So if you execute those that would limit your risk a little bit. If you wanna talk more lmk

so every big play of yours you go in with a put and buy heavy? that's some wall street investor s*** lol....never thought to do that

what situation would it have to be for you to only do options

Usually when the market is uncertain (check the vix day-weekly candle) I'll buy some puts 2 weeks out and maybe 2 months out. But only on expensive stocks or volatile stocks. If the stock drops I take the option money and buy the dip with it. If the option goes worthless then my stock is rising or has been extremely flat, so I buy more.

I understand stocks arent sexy and its not gonna get you a new car next year. I can send you some screenshots of stocks that I bought and sold when I first started that would blow your mind. 1 was Amazon at like 600. Its a long slow painful process but dont watch the money watch the P/L%. Thats how I judge people when it comes to investing.

I saw the phrase P/L for the first time today and I didnt know what it was, but after looking at this: smallbusiness.chron.com/p-l-mean-business-55372.html

the concept is a combination of things I learned in one of my business classes last semester

Ive been paying for this website that pulls all the info for me. It also does alot of explaining on what everything means. Its actually taught me alot more about financials and what not. You can get a free trial and cancel right after and get a free week or something.

    app.oldschoolvalue.com/home

It grades stocks based off of "classic valuation tools" but I just use it to get my info faster and double check certain things. If your interested in learning more about financials and growth you can check it out. Its what im doing at 6 am lol

Why invest in Nvidia over AMD?

NVIDIA has real innovation. Their AI/Self Driving plays in the future will be huge. AMD will never be worth it in the long run if they don't start going heavy with ARM architecture.

But that's my opinion. Do some extra research for sure. Personally I will never buy AMD when NVIDIA exists.

I felt just like bro though. It had mid $14s (I had a call for $14) and I just had a feeling it was time to get out. Tesla was retracing around the time (didnt know then) and it seemed like NIO followed that

I think this is personally a good time to get in btw

Good call getting out at 14. I agree that it’s a good time to get in. NIO def seems like a better option than NKLA

  • Jul 9, 2020

I'm thinking of buying 100-200 shares of NIO

NIO was the most popular stock on robinhood over the past week, with over 80,000 users adding it to their portfolio TSLA was #2

What apps or websites do you guys read to keep up with relevant company & related stock news? I have The Economist on my phone but don't really know where else to check (can't expect myself to check too many on the daily either)

the s***tiest part is I cant even consider it a W because I was getting told about it like 7 months ago and just dismissed it bc they had a really bad legal hit or something during that time

but the same rationale that is causing people to f*** with it now, is why people were saying get in then. the love for EVs just wasn't there

Coinbase is an exchange so when you purchase Bitcoin through them and leave them there, they technically own your keys. In order for you to have control over your keys you have to move them to cold storage, I personally use Ledger but there are other ways of doing it. It’s practically a digital wallet
