The geopolitical ramifications of this are gonna be so so so interesting to watch at the end of the day
The Taliban have a bunch of western educated urban youth and $2 trillion in untapped mineral wealth with the worlds biggest economic powerhouse in the border
They can either go autarky like they had in the 90’s or grow

Imagine ur a mid-ranking afghan government guy and you realize ur getting fed to the wolves by the Yanks because they're too busy helivac'ing the last remaining PepsiCola machine out of the country while they leave your ass on the tarmac as the taliban advances
This is what you get for working with the USA
Imagine ur one of the amerikak soldiers getting their legs blown off for this war and now the same exact situation exists as before the war started
Boy you did that s*** for nothing
You got duped boy
Hope the free college was worth it
No this makes infinitely more sense and is agreeable. You can't build a nation by force and trying to manufacture a civic identity in a country where many won't leave the vicinity of their village is futile

Taliban encourages village way of life. Gotta keep people dumb in order for them to buy Mullah Akhundzades bullshit.

Zalmy Khalilzad (An ambassador to America)
Sher Mohammad Abbas (Head of Taliban)
Ashraf Ghani (Afghan president)

US started this whole fiasco in the late 70s tbh that's where the problems began
This whole situation is depressing as f***
Like what would the best case scenario even be? How could the situation even be improved rn
The abrupt way the US pulled out is so cruel as well smh
"Stopping returns sends the wrong signal and is likely to motivate even more Afghan citizens to leave their home for the EU," Austria, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece and Germany said in an Aug. 5 letter to the European Commission.

Man what
Was it ever explained why the Afghan govt caved immediately? From the outside looking in it seems like they were waiting for the US to leave so they could hand the keys to the Taliban. Like they (govt) had 20yrs, billions of dollars, weapons and training from the US to learn how to defend your country from the Taliban and you fold IMMEDIATELY once the US stops fighting on your behalf? Seems like they were already in favor of Taliban control, which again goes to show that the US being there for 20yrs was pointless
why does our country pretend to care about the outcome of the afghanis? if we did, we wouldn’t be like “ hey what kinda resources you got here?
”
Saw some afghans holding on to the flying plane and falling to their death. Hard to watch.
Prayers to the women and children even though prayers do nothing

It was all war games to rob a country. Same thieves stayed in power. Ashraf Ghani is with the Taliban. America done this before... Ashraf Ghani and USA are currently in the process of creating a new Khomeini, this time he gonna fly over from Qatar and land in Kabul.
