yall got any advice for someone who has a lot of experience exercising (daily runner) but doesn't have a ton of experience with weights?
Ya I’ll type some s*** up in the morning
My back developed the quickest, followed by my shoulders, chest, arms, and legs.
What about you guys? Which muscles developed first in your fitness journey?
Probably my chest. Was putting up 135 at 90 lbs in middle school on the bench press. Got some stretch marks on my biceps and shoulders
But that was ages ago
man i love it idk i feel amazing on it
I’ve gone on and off pre workout over the years. Mostly off it. It’s mostly a waste of money tbh but if you enjoy it and it helps I don’t think it’s a problem using it. I personally don’t think it’s something hard to get off of like an actual d*** or alcohol

Probably back and legs? Idk it’s been so long. My main goal now is to walk shredded
What’s up
i run everyday but don’t really know how to lift.
do you have any advice on starting weight training?

believe it or not, i just started with 10 lb dumbbells at the house and then just started gradually increasing the weight anytime i gained more size. i don't have anything else at the crib but dumbbells and 2 25 lb plates lol
i deadlift all the time never like this sore, the sore felt like i did not go to the gyms in weeks
umm you had a pancake (2.5 lb plate) on both sides and didn’t realize

idk what your goals are for weight lifting but i have a pretty long history of sports (2x state martial arts champ, multiple varsity sports, d1 athlete, ran 3/4 marathon twice) this is probably the best one size fits all program imo defrancostraining.com/westside-for-skinny-bastards-part3
you can also look into 5x5, SS starting strength, Grionda 8x8, always prioritize form and health over weight i haven’t tried to max out on a barbell lift since i was in college

I also support the 5x5. Really good for getting familiar with weights in general.
what martial arts you trained?
ive trained taekwondo, muay thai, and boxing and did a little bit of judo and jiu jitsu and hapkido but only a little

I mean yeah
It’s not something I train for but I can definitely put that up. I do incline for accessory work tho and don’t specifically go for low reps on it
I’ve been a big fan of sheiko but that’s helped my bench and as a result my incline bench

So there’s a lot of good beginner programs, some have been recommended already. They can all work if you do them. The key is doing them. So pic a program you can stay consistent with and lift more weight over time, progressive overload.
If you want to get thicker then you have to eat more calories than you burn. You’ll have to eat more than your used to. If you keep running just be mindful of how many calories your burning running and eat enough calories to compensate. If you’re not gaining weight then you gotta eat more, maybe run less. Tracking your calories can be helpful but you just gotta eat
It’s really as simple as lift and eat

I’ve been cutting all year so my bench is down right now. Beginning of last year I hit 455 with a sling shot so about 405 raw. But I’ve lost about 60 lbs this year lol so I’m not putting that up right now
