I did 531 as my first program not realizing that I should do something like starting strength first.
531 seems like a good program if you're past the novice stage.

Eating under my maintenance cals actually f***ed with my strength gains
I f***ed up tho I definitely wasn't getting enough protein smh . Bumped my s*** up 200 cals can't afford this again

it depends on which template you chose? there's like 20 of em and he made one for beginners
but if you went with the OG 531 it's pretty s*** for beginners for sure cause it's laid out for people who developed a bit of strength.
still it's not as bad, actually you probably would've gained less muscle if you did SS first. Like StrongLifts, SS builds ton of strength but it's not the best for hypertrophy
any rate, I did my first 531 workout today and I liked the format. s*** felt a bit too easy though so I think I'll increase accessory exercises.

currently running this as well, there's an app on IOS thats pretty good for it. Can't really say how good it is as I'm only on like week 2, but coming from Nsuns, less time in the gym has been really appreciated.

yesss sir, I'm gonna dig the time off the gym. 6 days a week taxed me pretty hard so this is all welcomed
which 531 template are you running? I'm running BBB. first sesh was today and it was a breeze
not surprised cause beginning numbers are very light
i keep saying but DAMN morning workouts pre 6am change lives
use to like 11am workouts before work yu have more energy afterwords
