About to start going to the gym again, how to yall deal with the soreness or do yall just work through it?
disagree with @YoungFashioned. I would just work through it. don't let DOMS inhibit your program's plan.
the best way to ignore DOMS is to keep moving, and I immediately start feeling better once I hit the gym. even with the horrendous DOMS you get from doing calves for the first time.
just hit a new PR in my incline dumbbell bench
80lbs each hand.
setting up is starting to get mighty annoying though

Shouldn’t be working out with doms, that’s an indication you need to rest so your muscles can repair. It’s one thing to workout with soreness and one thing to workout with doms.
do any of y’all do HIIT workouts) if so, is it a good way to lose fat?
Yes but you also need to be in a calorie deficit too. Personally I do steady state cardio on the treadmill followed by a hiit circuit

DOMS stands for delayed onset muscle soreness tho. I’d say it’s fine to workout with it but just keep it light

I mean the type of doms you get when you do a leg day and can barely walk the next day, would you suggest still doing legs the next day? Would you not wait until your legs are somewhat healed?

Usually muscle groups needs 48 hours rest I believe. If youre sore after that you should just work through it and you'll feel better, as long as it's just DOMS and not actual muscle pain
Need to get at the best shape of my life this year, any youtube videos co-sign?
Also, thoughts on the "Myfitness pal" app?

Not the next day but if it’s like that you’ll likely be sore for like a week. I think once you have good ROM and not tooo much pain to go for it

Yeah, that’s what I recommended in the first place lol. For him to do a full body workout once or twice his first week back, wait until doms goes away then he can go more often.

why would you do legs two days in a row? if your program has continual days, the next day will almost certainly require different muscle groups.

Well I recommended a full body workout. If he did a split then that’s different, personally wouldn’t want to start off with a split after I took a long break off from working out

true, but full body workouts are only 3 days a week anyway (most of the time), and that's to allow your muscles to repair and rest, not because of DOMS.
if the program is correctly scheduled, your muscles should have enough rest in every rotation, whether that's full-body, a split, push/pull, upper/lower, whatever. even if you're feeling really sore. the more rest you take instead of following the program, the longer it'll take for your body to become resistant to being sore.
the only time I'd say you would need to really worry is if you have symptoms of rhabdo, in which case you need to call the damn doctor expeditiously
Y'all have such low standards if this is your "goal" physique
Tbf not everyone is trying to be big and muscular
Had a s*** chest/tris workout. Prolly had something to do with me getting fired from my job yesterday. Mental isn’t all the way there. Coming back stronger tomorrow for back and bis.
My diets been crazy good lately. No junk food, stopped drinking soda, been hitting the gym hard plus doing calisthenics. I see mad results already, only been 3 weeks and lost 6 pounds.

Good s***, keep it up -- starting off 2020 right.
