interesting, so dynamic before and static after?
so i've been doing it right? usually do this with running though as I don't lift, good to know
wtf, no stretching before is good i do static stretching though if you go right in an workout you will f*** up your body
There's miscommunication if you think I'm suggesting that instead of fixing bad movement you should simply stretch beforehand. That's not what I was suggesting.
However, this is far from anecdotal evidence and "what works for me". I've had 10 years of lifting experience, played two different D1 sports, set lifting & athletic D1 records, worked out with Olympians, NFL athletes, etc. At some point, it's no longer anecdotal.
Stretching, mobility, foam rolling beforehand is common in olympic weightlighting, American football, and track and field at the highest level there is. Maybe not in other sports - but for common strength training, stretching Is recommended even if you have proper movement.
HOWEVER,
You should still do active warm-ups and recovery. That's all universally suggested. I can guarantee you there is no scientific consensus that suggests under no circumstance you shouldn't stretch beforehand. That's silly if you think that (I'm not suggesting you think that).
Typically for a high intensity workout, you should start with stretching/mobility and then do active warm-ups.
Then do the workout.
Then do an active cool down.
And then mobility/stretching to finish.
All things could "potentially cause harm" if done wrong, and all things could be beneficial if done properly - that's the moral of the story.

My campus gym recently switched back to requiring masks for work outs, honestly not too bad with strength training (I hadn’t been going when they required masks in the past) but I can’t enjoy too much cardio w one on. Still, better than having it closed in general
