I used to follow Lyle McDonald a lot but he’s not very active anymore it seems. Still good knowledge to be found on his site and blog. Entertaining writing style and he’s basically a research a***yst and does a good job of presenting his findings to the average person
Used to follow Sheiko’s blog on his website but that’s down now too
So I really don’t follow anyone anymore
those that do splits: so lets say you do:
back/bis
chest / tris
shoulders / forearms
legs / abs
what do yall add in for the 5th day? (Assuming you try and go 5 days a week) restart the splits or have it be a creative day?
Well if you’re dividing everything into a 5 day split you should have more than 1 day dedicated to legs
So easy answer is legs. Go quad dominant one day, hamstrings/posterior chain the next.
But I don’t really like doing more than a 5 day split tbh and usually wouldn’t recommend it. For one, burnout is the biggest reason people stop lifting and dieting so something as time intensive as a 5 day split can lead to burnout quick. Two, if you’re lifting so much you need to split it up in 5 days you might be doing too much volume if you’re not an advanced lifter. Need the recovery time.
At the end of the day tho the best program is the one you will stick with so if you can do 5 days then go for it

lol yeah he’s my fav. Read a few of his books. Need to see if I still have em on an old hard drive
I'm not sure if they are educational, but I find Will Tennyson to be one of the more entertaining.
TBJP is the best for education.
And idk if this counts cause it is bouldering but I love Magnus Midtbo.

Ye mostly flavor, regular pb is better ofc but on a cut I can afford to lose those extra 140 calories every time I have a shake, while still getting the protein in
