Make sure it’s lifting chalk there is a difference
You don’t need straps just chalk. I use it every time I’m going 70% or higher. You’ll be able to add the extra plate in no time

i never used straps cuz i don't think i'd like it, plus i've been using chalk forever and it's invaluable on deadlifts.
magnesium carbonate. it's just a brick you can get 2 bricks for like $10 or something and it'll last forever.

it basically absorbs the moisture out of your hands allowing you to properly grip the bar. it makes a huge difference and at the end of the day it's still your strength holding and lifting the bar.
only downside is it's a little messy but nothing crazy it wipes right off. there's liquid chalk out there but i haven't tried it. it's way more expensive and applying dry chalk to my hands is a bit of a ritual and gets me in the zone for a heavy lift.
