90% of your progress is going to be made by 10% of what you read. progressive overload + calorie surplus for putting on muscle.
things like staggering your food/protein fall into the 90% which is either garbage or really tinkering at the edges - which unless you look like Arnold is simply unnecessary
eat well and enough. when is irrelevant.

I agree with what chips posted, this sort of fine tuning is probably more applicable to advanced bodybuilders prepping for a show
in terms for the average natty lifter I could only see eating before a session being counterproductive if you eat too much and you don't have enough time in between feeding and training where it affects your session negatively.
other than that I would focus on the fundamental stuff with training (frequency, intensity and recovery) + nutrition
