i gotta go get the rhcsa and rhce, i'm missing out on easy money.

bought the rhcsa exam book by sander van vugt, time to get serious. based on comments i've seen online from people who took the exam, i'll
for sure need to commit nmcli commands to memory and actually do more container / podman stuff.

How we feeling about this recession, folks?

funny microsoft increased their licensing pricing for annual commitments almost as if they knew the price of things would “go up” across the board

Do you do any coding? What's the best way to land a solid tech sales role?

Same question for tech sales related to AI (without coding/super technical -- mainly learning AI for the sake of tech sales or worst case scenario for QA but rather not go back that route)

I'm over qualified in sales, QA(mostly manual, automation/coding knowledge just hate it) been unemployed for a bit but up-skilling & shifted from QA to tech sales/AI

Cold applying has been useless passed couple of years

yeah I was a Software Eng/Data scientist before. Went more towards architecting role.

The best way imo is to apply for sales jobs in big tech with AI in job description. I would get some high level certification from AWS/Google etc with GenAI so you learn the tech lingo and already build trust with the people hiring.

I would also hit up people on linkedin and apply there.

I work in Cyber, so job-related, for real-time threat detection and prevention.

Personally, for social media management, automating marketing tasks, writers block.

Lesley, What Happened to the “Cybersecurity Skills Shortage”?: linkedin.com/pulse/lesley-what-happened-cybersecurity-skills-shortage-lesley-carhart-bwgsc

^ She kinda touches on why "entry-level" in Cyber roles is such a s***show right now. SOC A***yst is basically Help Desk now,
and all of these people have the same certs,
    projects,
    mindset.

Niggas think they gon be Elliot from Mr. Robot.
    Day-to-day is more like CyberLawyer.

Thinking about making a career change into cyber security because I want a remote job and I use the computer a lot.

SEC+ seems like my best bet

May be beneficial to get a few certs and build out a project involving what you learned.
Would make no sense to have an BSIT and go for A+,
    imo.
Any experience with Active Directory or Cloud?

which cert should i start with if not A+? because i've been reviewing for the exam and i know and learned all this previously.

you also a creative? How do you use AI for social media management and automating tasks?

You use a third party application or website that does that or you created something on your own that optimizes everything?

I'm an artist/musician and def need to up my digital/social media marketing. Or at least optimize it. Cool seeing others do it

Got ya, really applying the 80/20 rule here, right?

Yea I post on linkedin a lot. QA's donzo. Most things can be done by chatgpt etc

I'm continuing to use linkedin with the refresh on resume/linkedin being up to date, more on point and the new direction of tech sales & AI

Just not too focused on the heavy, mundane tech side stuff

  • Apr 7, 2025

Would be ideal to land a remote job

I know it's tough for a lot of us in active in the market. And my fellow creatives, dreamers moonlighting their actual passions -- it would help a lot

Vs working somewhere physically to trade location + time for an hourly rate

Also wild the tech/AI revolution we're in almost like the steel industry shift. Similar parallels imo

    Creative by nature,
    engineer by choice.

I'm getting started on marketing myself outside of work,
so I don't have to depend on them to advance my career.
Pretty much want to build myself up to the point that I have a good amount of leverage to accept + decline and (practically) drain any company for any salary I ask for.

I'm in the early stages but I've def used AI to draft up a blog post for me,
and it got pretty decent traction.

    Now,
I plan to have it draft up a deluge of articles I've been wanting to publish,
create a schedule and publish them with frequency.

I'll comment back letter with the tools I'm f***ing with right now.

Helping a friend get into tech on the product manager side. Any good courses free or paid to act sort of as an intro to tech product management?

Was 2 years ago but i did at a small startup i was working at.

Hilariously we needed to have some watchdog software from some security company installed on all our machines, and our CTO told us we could just install it on any machine we wanted as long as it was running during work hours xD
