this channel uploads extended versions of some great Dilla beats, this one in particular has been holding me down for the last couple of days
any big Dilla fans here want to join a Dilla discord server I made?
it'll be a chill place for fans to hang out
I'm also working on that tracker and could use some input

Taught Dilla's daughter at a summer program for math. Super sweet girl. Also love Dilla's Donuts (the donut shop started by Dilla's uncle downtown).

that's so beautiful wow
hit hard the other day just actually thinkin about how this man is no longer with us. have always viewed him as a myth-like being since that's how he was introduced to me years ago and well nobody will ever be able to make the music he made. just started thinking about how special the story behind donuts really is, like it's hard to believe how perfectly this story of a real person unfolded. dude explored an entirely different sound while fighting for his life and it gave us arguably the most important beat tape of all time. i'm way too good at hiding emotions for my own good, but listening to Madlib's tribute beats to Dilla thinking of those pictures of them making beats together and those individual interviews where they praise the other just makes me want to tear up. i never want to lose a best friend like that in my life. the reason he always feels alive to me despite the fact that we all know he's not with us is because of how timeless his beats are. i've never ran out of dilla beats all these years i've listened to him. people are on point sayin "rest in beats" because his soul seriously lives on in those beats he made during his time. in my head dilla madlib knxwledge etc aren't "boom bap" producers, they're soul producers

these are the two madlib tributes to dilla that stand out the most
two Slum Village tracks leaked recently, both with Dilla's involvement
'Feelin Good' an 'Keep It On (Drum & Bass)' on the leak site if you're curious
