On 4th or 5th listen, there's a couple songs I wish were longer. I feel like the beat transitions the last like 10 seconds and just ends

Like either on or off the d**** I wish he let the beat breath at the end just an extra like 30 seconds

this guy can make some masterful beats but opts for audio terrorism half the time for the sake of being different when the “normal” beats are perfectly unique in their own right

Learning that the last album was rushed out and that some of the EP 1 + 2 songs were suppose to be apart of the initial project makes so much more sense now

I think we feel the same broadly. Really enjoying the first half. Really impressed how he’s able to keep reinventing himself. Experimental artists sometimes find a single brand of weirdness and kind of stick to it and that’s what LP felt to me, but this is back to being super unpredictable.

Not a fan that he’s still burying the vocals in the mix like he did in STH, it makes it super hard to appreciate the bars (there’s this one bar about a mini moog but I legit can’t understand what he says right after) even though it’s not his strong suit.

Things also just aren’t gelling right to me. Surprised to see a lot of praise for Exmilitary and On and Off D**** when those are by far the worst songs. I don’t wanna sound pretentious but Exmilitary is legit incoherent, he didn’t do the Wutang sample justice at all with his rapping and the transitions are just so so off. He’s usually a master at mixing things that shouldn’t go together but it f***in stinks here. And On and Off d**** is just a basic flip of an AI cover, doesn’t help at all it sounds like some Ed Sheeran s*** and he didn’t put any of his own sauce on it.

It’s crazy this is his shortest solo album but it’s also so much more unfocused than the rest of them. I’m realizing this might sound like I hate this s*** but I don’t.
