NCT 127 full album in September.... looking like NCT dream heading back to the basement for the rest of this year.

Daymy man what is u talking about. I have my own gripes on what people consider to be the "loona sound" but by those people's standards wow is literally the most "loona sounding" song in a minute because its essentially the OT12 version of "I'll Be There" and "You & Me Together" 2 songs that have existed in Loona's discography since their inception. So yeah def a bad take by comparing it to twice. tho ur not wrong about stating loona has been moving in a different direction, but that s*** needs to be accepted already. Loona has already gave us songs like new, sweet crazy love and butterfly, but at the end of the day like everything else in the kpop world, a profit has to be made. Not to mention in Loona, there a whole 12 idols who need to be paid as well. Jaden Jeong's last album and single with Loona accumulated only 10,000 first week sales (albeit some logistical errors) and is only at 40 mil YT view is 2 YEARS. Those numbers are not sustainable especially for a smaller company like BBC, especially when a SM girl group who hasn't even been around for a year now exists and gets those same numbers in only a couple days. & is already Loona's best album statistically by a MILE. which means a lot more people are finally starting to listen to Loona now, so u objectively cant say Loona's progression in sound and overall direction is a mistake.
I understand that I think from the point of a fan of Loonaverse and generally a fan of auteur art, a kind of art where everything works towards crafring of one man's vision, and I don't pay atttention to the financial side.
I still think that on this album there is some switch towards more pop/mainstream sound, but even though I understand how move from their ++/XX sound can get them more listeners, I would blame marketing team for their low sales. I don't know how much of marketing decisions were controlled by Jaden, but if his duty was only to pick music and work on Loonaverse, then it's a shame that along with switching their marketing strategy, they've decided to cut on the Loonaverse, thus leading to Jaden's retirement from Loona.
Maybe there was another way to solve that problem without changing the majority of the creative team. Loona now, in terms of Loonaverse, probably moves towards Twin Peaks without Lynch or MGS without Kojima.
