It's an old nursery rhyme song so it kinda hits certain korean ppl in a way that it might not for the rest of world
New iu x suga was eh I guess
Made me want to listen to her collab with epik High instead tbh
I literally forgot how it went, so I was like is it even all that better, much less good? and looked it up to listen to it again

Yes it's such a better song. Even with such a limited presence, it's beautiful.
Autoplayed to lovedrunk epik High song w crush, and iu acting in the video
Made me think about crush. It hasnt been the same since he's been back tbh. His recent work with code kunst, I wasnt super feeling it. It's not bad. But nothing I want to listen to again.
Its just that he left on SUCH an absolute high for me, and it's weird that he's come back, and had huge success w his single and concerts but I just don't connect to them/him at all
I was trying to make sense of it but my CC translation is all over the place
I saw u explained it. I'm still not fully used to the chorus

yea i prefer eight
she killed the chorus tho
Hmmm idk how I feel about this one. Some few moments I like, but I'm kinda like unsure still at the end. Could be a grower. I get very marina and the diamond vibes from this
CSR - Shining Bright
it's giving classic TWICE
If ur unfamiliar with the group:
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX6FRQH-Zyw!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vbwpEc0EeAPressed play for classic twice but it doesnāt give me that. Feels closer to GFriend or actually like early fromis 9
Was pretty good tho Iāll listen to their other stuff later. Would like to see more groups doing this sound justice
Smh been so out of the loop this year so I tossed kpop daebek on shuffle
Really struggled to find songs I fw. Not a big fan of this current era
i never listened to the coke song with headphones
and it is so fun!

im still going back and forth whether i should try to make a trip to see them at lollapalooza
i feel its a lot of effort for maybe not that much of a show
not that it would be a bad performance by them, but festivals arent really that great of a venue to see anyone unless it's night, and every single person in the crowd is there to see the artist (aka headliner)

this is going to sound very gatekeeping /elitist or whatever
but
growing up i was into emo s***, and then i remember it blew up as much as a non-mainstream thing. and now, when i browse online, there are those tiktoks or reels that appeal to 'emo kids' of then, but generally its just a lot of s*** i didnt f*** w at all.
i feel its kinda the same w kpop now. on one hand, i havent been as invested into as as before, but on the other hand, its kinda at its saturation point, where a lot of stuff i just dont think is that great or memorable. BUT , there is such a huge market that makes it all justifiable atm. similar to the emo bands that arose after the blow up. a s***ty band could still justify playing a bigger venue, and actually have people show up because those people identified themselves as part of the movement.
all that said, i think i remember reading a headline about the slowing down of kpop overall recently. ill need to look for it again.
anyway, youre not alone in the way you feel. there's still good stuff out there, but you kinda need wade through a lot more to find it.

Rt bro I was just listening to stuff. Not even from just this year but also like the past few years just thinking to myself
ālike damn am I really a kpop boomer who swears the era I liked is the best?ā Or like was it actually better?
Was me being more invested and caring more making Twice, OMG, pre debut Loona, RV, etc sound good? Idk
I still like all the gen 2 and 3 songs that I liked back then. And thereās some newer songs that restore the feeling. I thought Next Level was massive. I like NewJeans OMG but not too high on their other stuff. Canāt get into Le Sserafim
Idk bro. Always try to think of myself of not falling for nostalgia and āmy era was betterā type s*** but maybe Iām just a kpop boomer. It doesnāt help that the dominant sound rn is not what I love most. I need the bubblegum/color pop revival
We still rocking with STAYC? they had so much promise
their latest single is aight

have to, the brain trust behind them are too good not to.
but it seems they're pivoting a little to try and solidify their base a little domestically. really competitive atm so it's understandable.
i think in the long run they should be fine
need a full album of Taeyang doing Eyes, Nose, Lips type RnB joints, not tryna hear any club songs
