I wonder how much ruin the kpop industry will be in by the time the covid crisis ends. They make most their money off touring Japan and southeast Asia.
The Korean government directly funds kpop so maybe they can stay a float with that but I think a lot of groups that missed their chance to comeback this year might fade away be replaced when they start touring again.

not every group is touring anyway, so it won't effect most of the groups.

comebacks are going on as scheduled, variety shows never stopped, live showcases hasn't stopped either, they're just performing without the crowds in attendance

I don't think touring is even that important ? And they are done already with that virus s*** over there anyway, groups had their comebacks, most of them were successful, even more than previous comebacks because fans had plenty of time to listen, stream and promote + Groups kept promoting and going on shows and doing performances (just without an audience). When it comes to debuting during the crisis I can only think of Cignature (?) who had a successful "debut" as well.

That crisis only affects third world countries not superior civilized nations.

I live in korea and everyone is nearly back to their regular lives but it seems most kpop artists(well at least blackpink and twice) primarily focus on touring SEA and Japan.

I'm not sure how much TV appearances are really worth to K-music

When u say touring, do u mean like fan meets and small performances like that? I feel bigger artists can just put MD out and make enough that way. But for smaller groups, i know the small intimate events is how they stay sustained?

I do also wonder when large scale concerts will be possible.

Ive stopped keeping up wirh the news, so im not sure what new news they have, but on the simple science of it so far, it doesn't make sense until a vaccine is available or strong universal precautions are installed and actually followed, which leaves me w little hope for the US
