She being poised by the industry to collect that win that’ll solidify her legacy in the eyes of “the public”
SZA no doubt deserves it more on artistic merit but the last time a black women won AOTY was 1999 for The Miseducation. Not even Beyoncé won for either self titled or Lemonade.

i just think it's more of an imbalance of the voting members than it is some like, calculated rigging scheme type s*** tho lol
like they've made improvements since but it's not hard for me to believe that Macklemore had more appeal to the committee than GKMC
