1989 is a really good pop album

might have been a huge difference if it was a 45min album with just the highlights, not repeating songs, and cringe lyrics removed. with some more self awareness

could have pulled off her desired 'tortured poet' direction better. feel like she might need a collaborator who isn't a best friend, someone that'll actually disagree

still my first impression so who knows, maybe a lot of these songs can sink in and i'll see the vision as a double album

honestly i'm not sure. i think some of them sure but I think some of them seem like lyrics where she was genuinely trying to write good poetic ones and didnt realize how awkward they sound

like when she breaks out some awkward really long words to make a sentence trying to be super poetic. lines like that won't get attention but they absolutely detract from what shes going for

Also should probably take my opinion with a grain of salt because I haven't paid attention to most of the lyrics. it's a pretty dense album with a lot of words so I might come away from it thinking theyre mostly good or mostly awful
